Hey! Welcome to the website.

Been an interesting week. Today I'm just tightening a new, fun song I just wrote specifically to open this year's...

"The Something'th Annual Year End Concert".

If this was summertime, I'd be able to take the unfinished song out to "The Hill" in Central Park and run it by you guys like I do.

.

BUT.... since the outdoor season is over, I guess you'll hafta show up at the gig on December 12th. THAT CONCERT IS GONNA BE A BLAST! DON'T MISS THIS ONE!(More about the concert further down the page.)

Yknow what? Before we get to that, I'm just gonna lead off the update today with THE CONTEST... only because so many people have been sending in some pretty clever suggestions.

What do you win?

Well, it's not a bag o' money or a brand new Prius.

No, but you can win a 6-CD set of music and a brand new "Crazy on the Same Day" baseball cap.

And besides, it's just kinda fun to exercise your imagination a little bit. Just get a little nutty. The winner will be announced here on Thursday, December 3.

THE CONTEST

Okay, you can win a 6-CD set of music and a "Crazy on the Same Day" baseball cap, even if this is your very first time here at the site. All you're gonna hafta do is come up with your own caption to one of my Photoshop images. I call this one...

It's really kinda cool. The emails are flying. I can't post them all. But I'll just grab a random bunch and give you an idea of how clever, funny, silly and sometimes downright twisted a lot of you are!!!

Okay before I get to the concert and how you can get tickets.... here are the 2 brand new galleries we launched earlier this week here at the website. Pour yourself a cup of coffee and hit the banners. There's a lot of fun stuff in there.

Okay now...

THE CONCERT

I am the luckiest man on earth to be able to do what I do for a living. I mean, I write songs and I sing them for people. I can always tell people, "You can know that you're doing what you're meant to be doing because.... it just feels Good, with a capital G." And you guys have made me "That Guitar Man from Central Park" for 18 years now. Very under-the-radar. What a gig! What a Life! Thank you!

At the end of every lap around the Sun we get together and kick the year in the ass as it heads out the door in a great music venue near Lincoln Center... Merkin Concert Hall in the Kaufman Center.

This year we'll be doing a whole bunch of new songs from the latest album, and I'll be joined on stage by some of the most generous, open-hearted, talented, good people... really wonderful artists. George Wurzbach, Ryan Cavan, Nelson Montana, Dave Marcus, Chris Tedesco and Cenovia Cummins. Folk-legend, Christine Lavin is gonna be in the house and will probably jump in on a few things. The man who brought The Beatles to America, Mr. Sid Bernstein, is gonna be in the audience so we'll all be in the company of American music history. AND... we laugh as much as we sing at these gigs.

.

You're not gonna wanna miss this one. This year it's on a SATURDAY NIGHT - - December 12th.

You can call the box office today between noon and 7:00

212-501-3330

Or you can click on this banner to grab tickets online

This year we're also gonna be joined on stage by newcomer, the beautiful and talented Teresa Reynolds.

I'll be back tomorrow with another brand new update.

Lotsa cool stuff comin' up next week.

Thanks so much for hangin' out and checking in here.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
