Hey!

Thanksgiving Weekend!

You havin' a great time!?

Man! If you know me at all you know how much I love this town. I mean, I write songs and I sing them for people. That's cool. And, in the warm summer months I become "That Guitar Man from Central Park".

I get to share my music, my thoughts, some stories and feelings with the people of this great town, people from all across the country and from different parts of the world. (And I have the emails to prove it!!!)

But in December, for I honestly don't know how many years, we all get together and kick the year in the ass as it heads out the door. It's become a yearly tradition. It's just one more thing I love about this town and this time of year.

Got some ideas for the gig and some songs I wanna run this week. (More about the concert further down the page.)

Time to head "indoors".

It's really kinda cool. The emails are flying. I can't post them all. But I'll just grab a random bunch and give you an idea of how clever, funny, silly and sometimes downright twisted a lot of you are!!!

Cool?

Okay...

THE CONCERT

I am the luckiest man on earth to be able to do what I do for a living. I mean, I write songs and I sing them for people. I can always tell people, "You can know that you're doing what you're meant to be doing because.... it just feels Good, with a capital G." And you guys have made me "That Guitar Man from Central Park" for 18 years now. Very under-the-radar. What a gig! What a Life! Thank you!

At the end of every lap around the Sun we get together and kick the year in the ass as it heads out the door in a great music venue near Lincoln Center... Merkin Concert Hall in the Kaufman Center.

This year we'll be doing a whole bunch of new songs from the latest album, and I'll be joined on stage by some of the most generous, open-hearted, talented, good people... really wonderful artists. George Wurzbach, Ryan Cavan, Nelson Montana, Dave Marcus, Chris Tedesco and Cenovia Cummins. Folk-legend, Christine Lavin is gonna be in the house and will probably jump in on a few things. The man who brought The Beatles to America, Mr. Sid Bernstein, is gonna be in the audience so we'll all be in the company of American music history. AND... we laugh as much as we sing at these gigs.

.

You're not gonna wanna miss this one. This year it's on a SATURDAY NIGHT - - December 12th.

You can call the box office TOMORROW (Sunday) between noon and 7:00

212-501-3330

This year we're also gonna be joined on stage by newcomer, the beautiful and talented Teresa Reynolds.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
