We've got all kindsa cool stuff goin' on here today. We've got a "Create a Caption Contest" goin' on. (It's at the bottom of the page. Show up for that contest and have FUN with it!) AND... we've got the big concert less than 4 weeks away.
Before we get into today's update...
GOT A BRAND NEW HUGE PHOTOSHOP GALLERY TODAY!!!! A lot of people email me about the images I've done here over the past few years. So, click on this banner and check out the gallery!
I'm probably gonna launch a brand new "VIDEO GALLERY" tomorrow. So, make a point to swing back again.
Next... I hafta ask. Are you new around here? I mean there are people checking in here from all across the country and different parts of the world. (I've been playing in the park for a long time, y'know.)
.
But here in New York City, we're gettin' ready to head indoors for our yearly tradition...
"The Something'th Annual Year End Concert"
The concert this year is gonna be something special... I can feel it already. I mean, I'm gonna be joined on stage by George Wurzbach, Ryan Cavan, Nelson Montana, Dave Marcus, Teresa Reynolds, Chris Tedesco and Cenovia Cummins. Folk-legend, Christine Lavin is gonna be in the house and will probably jump in on a few things. The man who brought The Beatles to America, Mr. Sid Bernstein, is gonna be i the audience so we'll all be in the company of American music history. AND... we laugh as much as we sing at these gigs.
So.... before I go any further today, I'll tell you how to grab tickets sooner than later.
You can call the box office directly today from noon until 7:00.

Do you believe that THANKSGIVING is next week!?
Damn! Y'know it really sneaks up when I'm playing out in Central Park until the end of October like we got to do this year. That last day together out there was something special wasn't it!? It was a day I played a whole lot of new original songs from the brand new CD. And we pulled some great old cover tunes out of the hat and had a blast.
Y'know what? If you're new around here, I'll just start today's update with some images and a couple of videos from that final day out there for 2009. Here's a handful of photos from that day, sent in to the website from Laura Manske and Elodie Pauwels.
(Click on the photos for a larger image)
. . . .
(Y'know.... every weekend brings something special and completely different or unexpected. I've been doing this for 18 years which is a good chunk of a Life, THAT is why I'm always saying I'm one of the luckiest men alive!)
Here are two quick videos from that day.
.
Okay...
NOW!!!!
I guess some of you are brand new around here. If that's the case, you can always hit the "Archive" and browse the updates here at the site. The webmaster, evil-genius James Marino, has set it up so that there are years and years of history in there - - FREE songs to download, cartoons, videos. It's very cool.
Like everyone else we can't get away from that silly, silly woman Sarah Palin and all the hoopla surrounding here new book. Over the last few days we've been having some Photoshop fun with her. That softball game she had with Oprah Winfrey was actually kind of embarrassing... for Oprah if you ask me. (I mean, I like and respect Ms. Winfrey. But that wasn't a matter of swinging and missing. I think Oprah didn't even really wanna step up to the plate for whatever reason.)
Anyway... NOW it's on to Barbara Walters.
Hope that one might have a little more substance.

More about that I'm sure this week.
But, before we get out of here...
THE CONTEST
Okay, you can win a 6-CD set of music and a "Crazy on the Same Day" baseball cap, even if this is your very first time here at the site. All you're gonna hafta do is come up with your own caption to one of my Photoshop images. I call this one...
Click on the banner for the image.
Click on this banner to find out how to make up your own caption , enter the contest and win FREE stuff.
THIS WEEK - I'm gonna start posting some of your captions AND some of the comments I'm receiving. (Okay. I didn't ask for comments, but some people can't resist, and I get a kick out of it.)
.
Cool?
.
Okay, I'm outta here. I'll be back tomorrow with another brand new update.
.
Lotsa cool stuff comin' up this week.
Thanks so much for hangin' out and checking in here.
Thanks for everything.
.
PEACE
Closed for 2009! See you in 2010!
David is available for private parties and events. Please call 646-224-8162 for fees and availability.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
