Well... today's update is the story of TWO Fall Classics.
Yesterday in Central Park was just another typically amazing day. Yeah.... a classic. BUT, it was the last afternoon of the 2009 season, and I'm really glad we went out that way rather than the Saturday afternoon two weeks ago which I was calling "Horrible Saturday".
Yesterday was a blast!
I promised you guys that would have photos and video from yesterday here on the website all this week. This stuff is all very time consuming and a ot of work... especially while I'm getting ready for "The Something'th annual Year End Concert" in December. But, a promise is a promise. So, I'm gonna start you guys off with a couple of small videos and a handful of images from yesterday.
What a beautiful day! (Click for larger image)
Now...
There will be more video all this week. But again, I wanna start you off with just a taste of the two fall classics.
The "models" jumped in! The drum solo from "the rowboaters"!

Kind of a bonus day in so many ways. (But then again, when I live Life as a possibility-junkie, when I'm really paying attention... every day is a bonus day!)
Welcome to the website! If you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, what I'm talkin' about is the beautiful weather yesterday in the mid 60s. It gave us all a chance to hang together and share music and laughs one last time "outdoors" this year in Central Park. Thanks to Nelson Nicholas of the Parks Department for giving me the all clear. Turned into a sweet little time.
Okay... here's a handful of photos from yesterday, sent in to the website from Laura Manske and Elodie Pauwels.

. . . . . . . . .
AND THEN!!!!
I headed up to The Bronx! So, I got in really late last night 'cause I was up at Yankee Stadium watching the boys win the American League Pennant for the first time in the new house.
Here's just a little, tiny video of the moments right after The Yankees clinched their trip to The Fall Classic.

And so.... yep!
It's time to bring back the good luck girls.
Yeah, yesterday was my own Fall Classic of a day out there with a guitar on my shoulder, with beautiful people from all across the country, around the world.... and a few hundred real New Yorkers.
MAN! What a day to finish off the season.
Now it's time to get ready for "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert"

I'm gonna be joined on stage again by George Wurzbach, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan... crowd favorites Dave Marcus and Janet Kirker. And this year we'll be joined by singer Teresa Reynolds and rap artist JC Hall. (I'm hoping to feature one of the amazing violinists who appeared on the new CD, Cenovia Cummins.)

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
