Okay...

We'll get to the update in a minute.

I mean, there are people checking in here from all across the country and on different parts of the world. And here in New York City, we've got a really fun, year-end tradition coming up in December to tell you about. Got my fingers crossed for some good weather this Saturday... gonna see if we can all head out to Central Park at least one more time to hang together with some music and laughs.

.

But first...

LAST NIGHT!

Headed up to Yankee Stadium for Game One of the playoffs with a friend from "The Hill".

I remember ex-Yankees manager Joe Torre augmenting an old adage:

"Well, you can't win 'em all... if you don't win the first one."

And last night, the Yankees gave the Minnesota Twins a little post season spanking...

(Damn! I love Photoshop!)

Okay, back to the update.

Listen, I'm working really hard this week to get my mind around a video editing app called Final Cut. I have a vision to make this website and the daily updates all about video. So, Some of these text updates might get a little bit shorter this week as I work on making this jump.

Right? Wouldn't it be be cool if you could come here every day and see a daily video rather than having to read all this stuff.

We'll see.

In the meantime, keep checking back here to see if I'm gonna get out to Central Park this weekend.

Oh, and if you're new around here.... there is a LOT of video and there are a lot of FREE song downloads in previous updates. Just browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

If you're gonna be in New York City this December, don't miss this yearly tradition...

"The SOMETHING'TH ANNUAL YEAR-END CONCERT"

Click on the banner to order tickets online right now!

OR... if you'd rather speak to a human being, the box office is open!

(212) 501-3330

If this helps at all, here's a seating chart for Merkin Hall. (The stage is actually designed for orchestral stuff. So, it's very wide. That just means the entire house is really very near the stage... very intimate. And the place sounds great! Not a bad seat anywhere in that room.)

BTW - pay attention to that dotted line. See? The balcony is like right near the stage!

I'm sure we'll be playing a lot of the new stuff from the CD, "Wouldn't Want It Any Other Way" at the concert this year.

THE NEW ALBUM IS HERE AND YOU CAN GET IT RIGHT NOW!

The webmaster of this site, James Marino, posted that convenient link at the top of this page on the left for you to order the CD right now. (I'll let you know the minute the individual tracks are available on itunes as well.)

'

I'm gonna try to figure out a way to really celebrate it's arrival. Maybe we'll just make the "Year-End Concert" in December a kind of "release party" as well as the fun tradition that gig is every year! It's gonna be swell to get all the artists on stage with me to play this thing LIVE.

Here are A few 2-minute clips from the CD:

KEEP HOPE ALIVE

MARY LEARNS TO FLY

ANY OTHER WAY

Keep showing up guys.

See you in Central Park next Saturday!!!

And, I hope you guys here in NYC are already thinking about the friends with which you're gonna share the "Year-End Concert" - SATURDAY NIGHT, DECEMBER 12TH. (Yeah, it seems like a long way off. But this is gonna be a special one this year!)

See you tomorrow.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
