Well, I know one thing I'm gonna do today!

Again, I don't know where in the country or where in the world a lot of you are reading this. But those of you here in New York City are enjoying this same, just f*cking nasty, nasty weather. I mean, it's not just rainy. It's mean! It's cold and windy and rainy and.... nasty.

It's only been a couple of weeks since we all hung out together in Central Park, but it starting to feel like a long time ago. At this time of year, I guess I kind of go through a little withdrawal. I consider myself one of the luckiest artists alive to be able to call myself "That Guitar Man from Central Park".

Time to head "indoors".

'Cause it's lookin' like the season is probably over.

If the weather rebounds like I think it's going to this week, AND another front with rain doesn't come through next weekend, I might just put a call in to Nelson Nicholas over at the Parks Department to see if we can squeeze a bonus day out of the autumn. If not, then that's a wrap and it's time to start looking forward to "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" at Merkin Hall near Lincoln Center in the second week of December.

Hey before I get into today's update... yeah, one mo' time! Gotta post the "Yankee Spank".

THE YANKEE SPANK

(Go ahead. Call me superstitious.)

But, A.J. Burnett and the team won a long, long nasty game on a nasty night. And I'm feelin' pretty good about the boys as they head out to L.A.

The Melk-man! And the Cap'n! All good.

So, what am I gonna do today?

Well, two things. First I'm gonna spend a good part of the day trying to teach myself to use Final Cut so that I can make the transition here at the website to more video for you guys.

But, before I get to the stuff about that yearly tradition at Merkin Concert Hall, I wanna share a little gallery of images from this past summer out in Central Park.

Just wanna bring you a little sunshine and maybe a couple of smiles on another nasty day. It might just re-enforce the reasons why I'm always so grateful, and why I think we all do a pretty swell thing out there every year in the middle of the greatest city on the planet. (Kind of amazing we've stayed so under-the-radar for so long. But, maybe that's part of the coolness of the whole thing.)

JUST A FEW IMAGES FROM 2009

It was the 18th summer I've been "That Guitar Man". Hit me this year that I've actually been a part of this city and been sharing music and thoughts, literally, for an entire generation. Blows me away! This was the year I finally tried sitting down for part of the 5+ hour set of music an laughs. (That didn't really take!) It was another year of sharing songs and stories with people from all across the country, all around the world - women and men from their teens to their 90s, all singing the same songs.... diggin' the same "It's Just Us" feeling.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Fun right!?

So, now we're looking forward to "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert"

But, before we get to that, I wanted to give you another look at a Photoshop image I posted yesterday. I get such a kick out of doing these things and then having you guys download them, copy them, and send them all around the internet. Sometimes they come back to me like a message in a bottle. Very cool.

Well, here's another. Wanna talk about a "Tea Party"? Here's one for you. Have fun! I think the caption should read: "Shhhh... I know these guys secretly think I'm an ass, too!"

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
