More about the concert in a minute. But, yeah.... Teresa Reynolds and Janet Kirker are going to be sharing the stage with me this year - along with George Wurzbach, Ryan Cavan, Nelson Montana, Dave Marcus and Cenovia Cummins.
Welcome to all of you checking in here from across the country and from different parts of the world. Here in New York City, a couple of things before we get to today's update.
Still don't know about hitting Central Park this weekend. A front is moving through with some rain and there's some cold air behind it. Sunday looks like it might be the better day of the weekend. But, I'll hafta watch the temperature and I'd hafta clear it with the Parks Department.
But in the event we don't see each other until "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert", bookmark this page and try to make a point of checking in here every day.
Here are a bunch of photos from this past season. (Click on each photo for a larger version.)
. . . . . . . . .
WELL!!!
The boys are heading back to the Bronx for game 6 of the ALCS. Hope they put it away in 6. I predicted the Yankees in 6 before the start of the series, so last night's loss was essentially my fault. (Don't worry. You give me enough time I can make Viet Nam my fault.)
Of course, the Yankees makin' it tot the World Series will be really tough on a fun woman from "The Hill" named Joanna who's become a friend of mine.... an avid Mets fans here in town who hates the Yankees AND the Phillies with a passion that makes me giggle.
(I saw this shirt and it made me smile.)
.
But, the boys didn't pull it off last night. And so.... I didn't get to bring back the girls today!!!
(But as a Photoshop artist, it's been really convenient that all of the Yankees' opponents wear RED!!! The girls say, "Take care of the Angles then bring on the Phillies!"
.
Moving on!
.
Workin' to put together all the elements for the "Year End" gig this year. It's gonna be a good time.
Also just called my good friend and colleague, Cassie Kubinski, to help out with an aspect of the promotions for the gig. Tell you all about that over the weekend.
Call the box office today!!!

I'm gonna be joined on stage again by George Wurzbach, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan... crowd favorites Dave Marcus and Janet Kirker. And this year we'll be joined by singer Teresa Reynolds and rap artist JC Hall. (I'm hoping to feature one of the amazing violinists who appeared on the new CD, Cenovia Cummins.)
Oh, oh, oh....
Listen, I can never answer all the email I get. But, I promise I read every single one.
Some of you are still looking for a place to download that image from Saturday's update, "The FOX NEWS Tea Party". (Just click on this link!)
Okay. Okay. You're wondering why I spend any time shining a light on buffoons like Glenn Beck!? Well, even if his world view wasn't so corrosive and fear-driven.... ON HIS SHOW HE'S MADE A POINT ON HIS SHOW OF DEMEANING, RIDICULING AND INSULTING THE SONG "PEACE TRAIN". By Cat Stevens
(Am I offended as a thinking, feeling human being? Um.... sure. But... HA! I'm more insulted as an artist!)
Hey! Here's a sample of a track that's on the new album and we'll probably be doing LIVE at Merkin Hall this year. (People at FOX can make fun of this one, too, if they want. I'll write more.)
I've got a whole lotta work to do to corral all the artists.... kinda gotta give 'em at least a rough sketch of what the night's gonna look like in December. (Yeah, we always make it up as we go along. But, it's important to point everybody at the same runway so we can all take off together!)
See you back here tomorrow with another update. Check back all week to see if we're gonna make it out to Central Park again this Sunday.
Thanks for everything.
PEACE

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
