Well, keep your fingers crossed for the weather this weekend. It's lookin' a little bit unsettled, rain-wise. But, y'know, I always say that the cut-off temperature for putting a guitar on my shoulder by The Lake is around 60 degrees.

I think some Autumn air is moving in this week. So, we'll see.

We've had some really great times out there this season. So if it's over for another year, I'm cool with that and grateful beyond words.

Still, I hope we get together at least one more time before "The Something'th Annual Year-End Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall in New York City. (More about that in a minute.)

TONIGHT!

I'm heading back up to Yankee Stadium for Game One of the ALDS against the Minnesota Twins. They played a tough, extra-innings tie-breaking game against the Tigers yesterday... a good one. Just hope The Yankees show up ready to kick some ass. If they need me to get there early tonight to help 'em with their swings during BP, I'm available.

Thanks for the ticket, Andrea!

Okay...

Before I tell you about the concert, I wanna share a video from a few weeks ago with anyone who's new around here that might have missed some of those typically amazing days we had out there this summer. Sometimes instead of playing my own songs, someone asks for just the right cover tune at the right time. (And sometimes I just pick the right one for the moment myself.)

If it made you smile, send the link to all your friends and family around the world and let them share part of your day in Central Park. Oh! And if you're looking for the last 2 "Wedding Couples' First Dances" just check yesterday's update here.

Okay.... another video.

But something that's not supposed to make you smile. (Still, it's part of my job description.) A couple of weeks ago, I did an acoustic version of a song that I wrote for the new CD. It's a song that I'm particularly proud of because musically it's one of the most audacious things I've ever tried - - taking rock, folk, rap, soul, country and fusing them so that all these genres come together at the end in one powerful statement of Truth. (A Truth that misguided people in the right-wing of this country are being led away from by smarmy, unprincipled frauds and blowhards like Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Liz Cheney and others.)

Here's a brand new fusion of the acoustic and the produced video.

I'm calling this version... Resolution: Where's the Voice

NOW!!!!! The Concert!!!!!

YOU CAN GET TICKETS FOR THIS YEARLY TRADITION TODAY!!!

The box office is open!

I'm sure we'll be playing a lot of the new stuff from the CD, "Wouldn't Want It Any Other Way" at the concert this year.

The box office is open today if you wanna call directly and speak with Jake or Sarah to get your seats early.

(212) 501-3330

If this helps at all, here's a seating chart for Merkin Hall. (The stage is actually designed for orchestral stuff. So, it's very wide. That just means the entire house is really very near the stage... very intimate. And the place sounds great! Not a bad seat anywhere in that room.)

BTW - pay attention to that dotted line. See? The balcony is like right near the stage!

Click on the banner to order tickets online right now!

Grab some tickets early if you can.

See you guys here at the site all week with anew update every day! If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

.

Thanks for everything. See you back here tomorrow.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
