If you're new around here, or if your checking in from a different part of the country or the different part of the world.... Welcome to the website!
Got a lot of rrreeeaaallllyyy cool stuff goin' on around here these days. And, I'll be back with a more complete update in a little while.
Went up to Yankee Stadium last night with a friend from "The Hill", sat in the drizzle and the cold... again... and watched the boys get shut down by a pitcher who looked really good while making the Yankee hitters look really confused at the plate, and some very patient hitters on the Philadelphia Phillies.
Just wanna say... okay. Weeks ago I predicted "The Yankees are winners in the World Series in 6". (Of course, I also thought it was gonna be the Dodgers they were facing, but nobody's perfect!) So that means they hafta lose 2 games in a best-of-seven. It just good to get one loss out of the way!
Moving on!
(Or moving a little bit backward rather!)
Here's that idea from yesterday again!
GOT SOMETHING SPECIAL HERE TODAY! I wanna share something with all of you today and ask if you wanna be a part of it! (Especially all of you who live in Manhattan!)
Now, if you've been coming here for any amount of time you know that at the end of every year we have a little tradition to kick the year in the ass as it heads out the door. It's called "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert".
HERE'S THE THING...
I'm a fiercely independent artist. Essentially, although many people feel my career has been much more than this... Ha! I'm a street musician.... a 21st century troubadour. Therefore I consider myself among the luckiest people on the face of the earth. I LOVE my life and what I do for a living. Hell! I write songs and sing them for people. I share music, laughs, stories, thoughts and feelings with people from all across the country and all around the world from right in the middle New York City.
But, it's all been soooooo completely under-the-radar and that's kinda cool.
But with the concert coming up in December, and with all the wonderful artists I've got sharing the stage with me this year, I decided to ask a new friend of mine, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love and his editor-brother Dave Love to help me get the word out about this gig. So...
WE SHOT THIS COMMERCIAL!!!!
.
Now, do YOU wanna help get it on the air here in Manhattan!?
.
You can be a part of this lunacy... if you can donate whatever you can to... Ha! "THE TV AD CAMPAIGN". I'm serious. CLICK ON THIS LINK if you wanna help get this commercial on the air during The Daily Show in November!
Or just click on that link over there at the top of this page, up in the right-hand corner.
Hell... y'know? This is one of the things that allows me to say, "When I'm in a room all by myself, I actually like the company!" It's like... I really dig that I'm crazy enough to wanna try to pull something like this off.
So if you feel like it and ONLY if you can afford it, it'd be fun if you could throw a few dollars at this effort.
if you're new around here you might wanna hit the ARCHIVE and browse through the hundreds and hundreds of updates from past years. Lots of fun stuff in there. And here in New York City we're all gonna be getting together very soon for "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert".

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
