THANK YOU to every single one of you who ventured out to Central Park yesterday to hang with me at least one more time before we wrap another season by The Lake.
But I also hafta say... that was one of the strangest days I've ever spent out there in all the years I've been "That Guitar Man from Central Park".
(I'll get into it a little bit more this week.)
Today, I'm all about making you guys laugh and check out some really fun and amazing videos. For all of you who are not here in New York City and are checking on from different parts of the country and different parts of the world, I've got kind of a fun update for you here today. And, of course, the link is here again to day if you wanna go ahead and grab your tickets for "The Something'th Annual Year-End Concert".
But, back to yesterday.
The day started out lookin' like a little bit of a wash out. But, we headed out to "The Away Game" and had a sweet, sweet time with the few people that showed... singin' songs that I wrote, tellin' stories, singin' cover tunes that we all love. Just hangin' outdoors one more time with people who really "get it".
THEN.... the wind started up.
HOLY SHIT!!!
Grey and blue clouds rambling across the sky behind the buildings and trees. Wind blowing ferociously at intervals. But, it was beautiful in some ways. The leaves have started to change slightly in the park, and the water in the Lake just looked bluer than ever. In some of the photos that people are sending in, it almost looks as if I was playing in front of the ocean.
And then, an incredible gust of wind actually blew some of my equipment into The Lake!!! Watching a speaker floating in a lake is something you might think would, y'know, put a crimp on the good times. But, after a little MacGyver moment, it actually continued to work.

Very cool. Just bizarre.
And at some point during the day, the "Rude Tourist Bus" must have pulled up. And those pedicab guys are gettin' out of control. But, we did have another wedding couple happen by and share their first dance with us. That was cool Meghon and Adam...

It's gonna be a blast again this year.
Okay, one more thing before we get to the first video.
I this as sent into the website by the man I call "Pop". (Um.... because he's my father.)

Okay, first up...
I went looking on Youtube for a couple of TV commercials that always make me laugh out loud a little... from that great series with the eTrade Baby.
.
.
BUT!!!
It led me to another video of eTrade Baby outtakes. And I found myself laughing out loud again!
And THAT led me to this one!!!!!
But, now I wanna share a YouTube video that my friend and bass player, Nelson Montana, emailed to me here at the website.
When you watch this one, see if you're anything like me.
Besides the jaw-dropping talent and proficiency of these two beautiful musicians, I was delighted to the point of giggling at the unabashed JOY in the young woman's face and in her entire presence. Just made me smile so much my face hurt!
Okay.... enough videos for one day.
I'll be back all this week with some original videos from this weekend out in Central Park and a few more from past weekends.
Once again, I wanna draw the attention of any newcomers to this website to the fact that you can catch up with what's been going on around here in the ARCHIVE. Seriously, there are years of updates... FREE songs to download, music video, original cartoons, Photoshops images, editorials and opinion pages.
Okay see you guys back here tomorrow.
Thanks again.
PEACE
All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
