Okay! Okay!

If you're stopping in here from a different part the country or a different part of the world and you've been emailing me about getting more video on this site from our weekends in Central Park, I've been doing the best I can!

Ha!

Besides James Marino hosting and maintaining this website, and all the beautiful and talented artists I'm lucky enough to get to work with on regular basis, and Laura Manske shooting the actual video on weekends and handling PR the rest of the week, and Kara of the G.I.G. Foundation helping out with the production of the new album, and Allie Tabak heading up the Allie Corps, and David Yankee and Andrea helping to keep me sane, and Dean lending his talent and professionalism to my latest project, and ALL the "People on the Hill" (You know who you are), and all my friends and loved ones who constantly support my work... y'know...besides them... um...

.

...this is basically a one-man operation.

Ha!

(I'm so lucky to have sooooo many good people in my Life.)

Still... all of these things take time.

Today... I've got a new version of what I hope is a powerful music video that you will want to pass on to everyone you know.

But first! Man! We had another typically amazing day out in Central Park last Saturday, didn't we?

And I guess it's getting to be almost a daily tradition to sing an Elvis Presley ballad to newlywed couple. Got ANOTHER one here today.

But before I get to that, wanna tell you... I plan to be back out there this weekend, weather-permitting. But this time of year, y'never know how many more we're gonna get in. I mean, we could be 3 or 4 rainy weekends away from calling it a "wrap" on season #18.

That's why it's time to start thinking about which friends you're gonna wanna get together for "The Something'th Annual Year-End Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall on December 12th. (More about that very soon.)

Okay... FIRST VIDEOS OF THE DAY!!!

First one, and then another newlywed couple happened by. And again, the people of New York gave 'em a chance to make a special memory they will remember for the rest of their lives.

.

Maybe I should think about playing a couple of different songs for them to dance to next summer! I mean, this Elvis Presley classic is beautiful.... but, next summer I'll mix it up a bit!

.

NOW!

Last Saturday, I did an acoustic version of a song that I wrote for the new CD. It's a song that I'm particularly proud of because musically it's one of the most audacious things I've ever tried - - taking rock, folk, rap, soul, country and fusing them so that all these genres come together at the end in one powerful statement of Truth. (A Truth that misguided people in the right-wing of this country are being led away from by smarmy, unprincipled frauds and blowhards like Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Liz Cheney and others.)

Here's a brand new fusion of the acoustic and the produced video.

I'm calling this version... Resolution: Where's the Voice

WHERE'S THE VOICE

Okay....

.

One more video to make you smile.

This was from a few weekends ago.

I'll be back tomorrow with another new update. Keep checkin' back, okay? If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

Keep showing up guys.

THE NEW ALBUM IS HERE AND YOU CAN GET IT RIGHT NOW!

The webmaster of this site, James Marino, posted that convenient link at the top of this page on the left for you to order the CD right now. (I'll let you know the minute the individual tracks are available on itunes as well.)

'

I'm gonna try to figure out a way to really celebrate it's arrival. Maybe we'll just make the "Year-End Concert" in December a kind of "release party" as well as the fun tradition that gig is every year! It's gonna be swell to get all the artists on stage with me to play this thing LIVE.

Here are A few 2-minute clips from the CD:

KEEP HOPE ALIVE

MARY LEARNS TO FLY

ANY OTHER WAY

.

Okay, I'm outta here. Got songs to write and a big, new, ridiculously audacious project to get to work on.

So, I'll see you back here tomorrow.

Thanks for everything.

.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
