Keeping your small intestine.... no... no, never mind.
Just sayin' - - I'm hoping we get some good weather so we can hang out again tomorrow in Central Park. There's some rain coming through. I just hope it holds off until tomorrow night when we're all in a diner on Broadway feelin' good, AFTER sharing another day of music and laughs in the greatest city in the world.
Can't wait to hang with a few thousand New Yorkers, people from all across this country and different parts of the world. Who knows how many outdoor concerts we're gonna have left this season.
Of course...
...tomorrow we're gonna be on the other side of The Lake again. That's the location I call "The Away Game". (There's a map a little further down the page.)
Doesn't matter where in the park we are. The music, the laughs, the smiles, the magic is the same.

Like, I've been posting video from last Saturday on this site all week. In fact if you're new around here and you wanna catch up a little, there are videos and pictures and FREE songs to download and all kindsa cool stuff you can check out just by hitting the "Archive" button and browsing through as many previous updates and you want.
But, I hafta end this week the way I began it.... with these couple of moments that happened spontaneously out there this past Saturday. At the top of the video, a young guy from London was shooting a video of his day in the park for his girl back home in the UK. We all thought we'd make it a little special for her.
But, THEN watch what happens!

Kinda cool, right!?
Oh listen... I sent out a TWEET yesterday because it occurred to me why I'm feeling so good about some of the music videos I've got running on YouTube, and why I feel so good about some of the outrageously ignorant and offensive comments that come at them from the right-wing "conservatives" of this country.
I often say that besides writing Love songs and songs about Life, and songs about romance and songs that might make you smile or dance, part of my job is also to write songs that "comfort the disturbed... and disturb the comfortable."
Well, judging by some of those comments on YouTube...
I think.... I think...
There might be another song in there somewhere.
Seriously, I would consider it a favor if you guys would take a little time to watch these videos and leave a comment.
This one is a lot more fun, because it's about the jackass that I call "The Pillsbury Doughboy of Patriotism"
Seriously... go in there, read a few of the comments, and have fun. (It's amazing what's goin' out there in other parts of this country!) But, be cool. Remember, we're the Good Guys.
OKAY, NOW LET'S GET BACK TO THE MUSIC AND THE LOVE~ One more repeat video from this week.... another "Feel Good" moment.

an iphone moment
Sometimes I say, "If somebody described to me what I do out there in the park... I probably wouldn't go!" I mean, it's tough to describe the sweet things that go on out there. Very often we laugh as much as we sing. Just kinda go with the day! Like this moment in the middle of the day when a guy comes up to me and tells me that one of the young ladies he's with is visiting New York City... and having a birthday at the same time.
I found out where she was visiting from, and asked him to get someone from her hometown on the phone. This is what happened.

Really kinda swell, hah?
By the way.... at the end of that video? The man in the lawn chair with that great head of white hair?
That's Sid Bernstein.... the man who brought The Beatles to America!
Very cool.

Okay TOMORROW!
Here's that map I promised you. Print it out so you know where to find us! This season I've been hangin' out on the south-side of The Lake while they restore "The Hill" where I traditionally sing and play. Here's a map so you can find it easily. We're not in the usual place this summer. Here:

I'll definitely be back here tomorrow with another new update. Keep checkin' back, okay? If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.
Keep showing up guys.
And, I hope you guys here in NYC are already thinking about the friends with which you're gonna share the "Year-End Concert" - SATURDAY NIGHT, DECEMBER 12TH, MERKIN CONCERT HALL, NYC.(Yeah, it's a long way off. But this is gonna be a special one this year!)
See you in the park tomorrow!
Thanks again.
All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
