Listen... I'm really sorry about the weather yesterday. I mean not that it was my fault or anything. Just sayin' it's too bad we missed a weekend of music and laughs.
We'll all hafta keep our fingers crossed for next Saturday, I guess.
I've been having an interesting, eventful weekend anyway. Seriously. I often say that one day in my Life rarely resembles the day before. And that has certainly been the case for the past few days.
If you've been comin' around here for a while you may have heard me mention that my Dad, the man I call "Pop", was in the stands at Yankee Stadium when legendary Yankee captain Lou Gehrig made his historic farewell speech.
Well, I kinda got a chance two nights ago to make a distant kind of connection... complete a little personal circle in a way.
. David and Joe at 19... and last weekend in Central Park.
So, Pop was there when Lou Gehrig said farewell.
The current captain of the New York Yankees, Derek Jeter was on the brink of becoming the man who's gotten more base hits wearing a Yankee uniform than any other legend who's ever played the game as a Yankee... including the great Lou Gehrig. Derek entered the game Friday night tied with Gehrig. I really wanted to be in the house when he broke that record and it turns out, a good man from "The Hill" in Central Park who I've come to call "David Yankee" had an extra ticket for me to get into the game.
We met at the stadium, waited out the rain and watched history happen. (I snuck the webmaster, James Marino's HD video camera in with me.)
Here's the moment when Jeter wrote more Yankees history.

Kinda cool.

Okay...
Back to the music!!!
THE NEW ALBUM IS HERE AND YOU CAN GET IT RIGHT NOW!
The webmaster of this site, James Marino, posted that convenient link at the top of this page on the left for you to order the CD right now. (I'll let you know the minute the individual tracks are available on itunes as well.)

I'm gonna try to figure out a way to really celebrate it's arrival. Maybe we'll just make the "Year-End Concert" in December a kind of "release party" as well as the fun tradition that gig is every year! It's gonna be swell to get all the artists on stage with me to play this thing LIVE.
I'll be back here tomorrow with another new update. Keep checkin' back, okay? I might have some new video and repeat some of those videos rom last weekend.
If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.
Keep showing up guys.
And, I hope you guys here in NYC are already thinking about the friends with which you're gonna share the "Year-End Concert" - SATURDAY NIGHT, DECEMBER 12TH. (Yeah, it's a long way off. But this is gonna be a special one this year!)
See you tomorrow.
Thanks again.
All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
