Things didn't quite work out to be hangin' together in Central Park this weekend. I figured maybe I'd start the week off by posting just a couple of the many, many photos that people have been sending into the site from last weekend. (Thanks to you all. But, try to get me some more pictures of you guys... "The People on the Hill". Ha! If there's one thing this world doesn't need, it's more photos of me playing the guitar!!!)

Gotta say... playing at "The Away Game" on the other side of The Lake doesn't exactly feel like home. But, the view of the Upper West Side is pretty spectacular for everyone hangin' out with the music and laughs.
KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED FOR GOOD WEATHER THIS COMING SATURDAY AND I'LL SEE YOU IN THE PARK!
Okay, a couple of things...
On Friday night I was up at Yankee Stadium. Did kind of a cool update yesterday all about that. (I got rained out of the park this weekend... hadda do something!)

Oh HEY!!!! Again. Personal friends and family!!!!
I had a nightmare with Sprint since last night so I decided to cancel my account with them. I just made the jump to an iphone. (So, I've got a new personal phone number.)
Um... I looked at the stats for this website and I see that more and more people from across the country and in different parts of the world are checking in here... so just for today, here's a little repeat of some video from two Saturdays ago. In this first video, what happened was this. I was sharing another typically amazing day in Central Park with a few thousand New Yorkers and people from all across this country and around the world this past Saturday. Turned into just another golden day. On those kinds of days, y'never know what's gonna go down. At one point I started becoming aware that several strangers were sharing a birthday. One of them was a pretty young woman named Tiffany, who said she wished she could share the day with her twin sister in Jacksonville, Florida. So minutes later she got her sister, Kendall, on the phone and.... well, this is what happened.

So cool.
Listen, I'm gonna hafta post some of the other videos from that weekend here again.
First, the weddings!!!
.
.
...as well as a couple of videos for which I get a truckload of requests.
It's true.
Here are 3 videos, which I urge you guys to pass along to all your friends and family across the country and around the world. I also hope you eventually take a little time to leave a comment of your own on YouTube. (You kids are crazy for the YouTube. Are you lovin' the YouTube? Are you crazy for the YouTube?)
Y'see, as an American singer/songwriter part of my job description is "to comfort the disturbed... and disturb the comfortable." As a free-thinking man who is politically a registered Independent, it's a swell place for me to write songs that speak to reason, principle and basic human decency with nearly complete disregard for partisan politics.
But, there are some buffoons in the political punditry that are just... well, I would say assholes or twinkies. But, let's just say they're fun material for a couple of hooky songs.
.
Still...
Some subjects are not material for making fun.
Please check out this video. I'm not letting this go!
Why? Because torture is wrong. It's morally repugnant. And, uh... um.... IT'S ILLEGAL!
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed... it's the only thing that ever has."

THE NEW ALBUM IS HERE AND YOU CAN GET IT RIGHT NOW!
The webmaster of this site, James Marino, posted that convenient link at the top of this page on the left for you to order the CD right now. (I'll let you know the minute the individual tracks are available on itunes as well.)
'
I'm gonna try to figure out a way to really celebrate it's arrival. Maybe we'll just make the "Year-End Concert" in December a kind of "release party" as well as the fun tradition that gig is every year! It's gonna be swell to get all the artists on stage with me to play this thing LIVE.
ANY OTHER WAY
Okay... if you're new around here, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.
Keep showing up guys.
See you in Central Park next Saturday!!!
And, I hope you guys here in NYC are already thinking about the friends with which you're gonna share the "Year-End Concert" - SATURDAY NIGHT, DECEMBER 12TH. (Yeah, it's a long way off. But this is gonna be a special one this year!)
See you tomorrow.
Thanks again.
All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
