I write songs and I sing them for people. I write what's on my mind and in my heart. I sometimes use art as a mirror to reflect the world around us... and sometimes like a mallet to help shape the world around us.
And y'know? For a man who is officially and statistically one of "The Poor", I sure get to enough Yankees games! I have the coolest people in my Life - - from David A. years ago, who helped produce the very first CD and got me to Game 6 of the '96 World Series when the Yankees won it all... to the man I call David Yankee who's always generous with his extra tickets, to the lovely Andrea, who gave me tickets to bring "Pop" to a game, treated me to a few other games already this year and another one last night.

Last night, another WALK-OFF win. The Yankees magic number as of today is 11.
Anyway...
Hey listen, we're already kinda winding down another season out in Central Park. Wrapping up another typically amazing season out there.
I'm definitely heading out there this Saturday, though. The weather is looking like it's gonna be just perfect for an afternoon to share a whole bunch of music and laughs. So if you're not doin' anything, grab a few friends and head out there to hang with me.

I'll have the new CD with me!!!! (More about that in a minute.)
OH HEY!!!
THE COMMENTS ARE STARTING TO HEAT UP A LITTLE on the "Resolution" music video on YouTube.
You guys! Yes... YOU!
Get in there and mix it up with the other kids! Be heard! Leave a thought or a comment. People all across the country and around the world are on YouTube. Have fun in there. (But be cool, okay?)
Now, two weekends ago in Central Park... well, it was just another typically amazing day. On those kinds of days, y'never know what's gonna go down. At one point I started becoming aware that several strangers were sharing a birthday. One of them was a pretty young woman named Tiffany, who said she wished she could share the day with her twin sister in Jacksonville, Florida. So minutes later she got her sister, Kendall, on the phone and.... well, this is what happened.

So cool.
Listen, I know there are a lot of people checking in here this week for the first time from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. I'm gonna hafta post some of the other videos from last weekend here again.
First, the weddings!!!

...as well as a couple of videos for which I get a truckload of requests.
It's true.
Here are 3 videos, which I urge you guys to pass along to all your friends and family across the country and around the world. I also hope you eventually take a little time to leave a comment of your own on YouTube. (You kids are crazy for the YouTube. Are you lovin' the YouTube? Are you crazy for the YouTube?)
Y'see, as an American singer/songwriter part of my job description is "to comfort the disturbed... and disturb the comfortable." As a free-thinking man who is politically a registered Independent, it's a swell place for me to write songs that speak to reason, principle and basic human decency with nearly complete disregard for partisan politics.
But, there are some buffoons in the political punditry that are just... well, I would say assholes or twinkies. But, let's just say they're fun material for a couple of hooky songs.

Okay, about the new CD
'
I'm gonna try to figure out a way to really celebrate it's arrival. Maybe we'll just make the "Year-End Concert" in December a kind of "release party" as well as the fun tradition that gig is every year! It's gonna be swell to get all the artists on stage with me to play this thing LIVE.
Oh yeah.... "The Somethingth-Annual Year End Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall is gonna be on Saturday night, December 12 this year. This one is gonna be a blast. I know it feels like a long way of, but December is gonna sneak up fast. Start thinking about the friends you wanna bring this year.
Okay... if you're new around here, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.
Keep showing up guys.
See you in Central Park next Saturday!!!
And, I hope you guys here in NYC are already thinking about the friends with which you're gonna share the "Year-End Concert" - this is gonna be a special one this year!
See you back here tomorrow.
Thanks again.
All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
