More video here on the site today from this past Saturday afternoon.

Yeah, another video.

But first! Welcome to everyone checking in here from New York, from different parts of the country and different parts of the world.

And thanks to every single one of you who've shared at least one afternoon with me in Central Park this year. Believe it or not, I'm wrapping up season #18 being "That Guitar Man from Central Park".

We've got a few more weekends to get together out there. And then before you know it, it'll be time for this year's "Something'th Annual Year-End Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall. Mark it on your calendars. This year it's on a Saturday night again... Saturday, December 12. These things are a blast! Start thinking about the friends you wanna grab and make a night of it. (Ha! I think it's the first night of Channukah this year! Yippee!)

I'll let you know more about that as it gets closer.

But... for now we're still hangin' out in Central Park!

This past weekend, David Marcus made it all the way back up to town from Maryland to lay in a few harmonies.... brought his new girl, Lisa, with him and she jumped in on a couple, too. Very cool.

Oh, oh, oh hey listen! Before I forget!

Thanks to anyone who jumped into the "comment" fray on YouTube surrounding some of my more topical music videos. Seriously, it's nice to know you guys have got may back. (There are a lot of shallow, twisted people out there!)

Ha!

Okay... now, about last weekend and all the thousands of cool people with whom I get to hang out. Out there, I sing a lot of my own songs. But,I also sing some cover tunes. Click on this link to see what happens when I sing a song by Jason Mraz.

Sometimes I say, "If somebody described to me what I do out there in the park... I probably wouldn't go!" I mean, it's tough to describe the sweet things that go on out there. Very often we laugh as much as we sing. Just kinda go with the day! Like this moment in the middle of the day when a guy comes up to me and tells me that one of the young ladies he's with is visiting New York City... and having a birthday at the same time.

I found out where she was visiting from, and asked him to get someone from her hometown on the phone. This is what happened.

Really kinda swell, hah?

By the way.... at the end of that video? The man in the lawn chair with that great head of white hair?

That's Sid Bernstein.... the man who brought The Beatles to America!

Very cool.

Okay...

For anybody who's visiting here for the first time, I want you to know that I feel part of my job description is also "paying attention". and as an American singer/songwriter, it's part of my job to write songs that "comfort the disturbed... and disturb the comfortable."

That said... would you guys make a point of checking out these two videos and take a minute to actually leave a comment or two?

Seriously, I would consider it a favor.

HERE'S ANOTHER!

This one is a lot more fun, because it's about the jackass that I call "The Pillsbury Doughboy of Patriotism"

Seriously... go in there, read a few of the comments, and have fun. (It's amazing what's goin' out there in other parts of this country!) But, be cool. Remember, we're the Good Guys. LEAVE YOUR OWN COMMENT

OKAY, NOW LET'S GET BACK TO THE MUSIC AND THE LOVE~

THE NEW CD IS HERE

Webmaster James Marino made it so you can click on that CD cover or use that link in the top left corner of this page to order it ight now.

I'm gonna try to figure out a way to really celebrate it's arrival. Maybe we'll just make the "Year-End Concert" in December a kind of "release party" as well as the fun tradition that gig is every year! It's gonna be swell to get all the artists on stage with me to play this thing LIVE.

Here are A few 2-minute clips from the CD:

KEEP HOPE ALIVE

MARY LEARNS TO FLY

ANY OTHER WAY

Okay...

I'll definitely be back here tomorrow with another new update. Keep checkin' back, okay? If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

Keep showing up guys.

And, I hope you guys here in NYC are already thinking about the friends with which you're gonna share the "Year-End Concert" - SATURDAY NIGHT, DECEMBER 12TH, MERKIN CONCERT HALL, NYC. (Yeah, it's a long way off. But this is gonna be a special one this year!)

See you in the park next Saturday!

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
