So, okay...

We missed an afternoon of hangin' out together to share some music. BUT! I'm gonna have my guitar on my shoulder at a gig tonight... and it's FREE! (More about that in a minute.)

First, well there goes August. Next weekend is Labor Day Weekend.

I'm gonna be heading out to Central Park with my guitar on my shoulder again next weekend. The exact location.... um... I'm gonna hafta let you know this week. I'm not sure where we're gonna be. We might still hafta go to "The Away Game" or we may be back home at "The Hill".

BUT!!!

WE CAN HANG TOGETHER TONIGHT!

If you missed hangin' out with me and sharing some music and laughs this weekend, or if you're anxious to pick up a copy of the brand new CD, what are you doing after work?

What the hell! Let's pack the place and have a few laughs tonight! Call a couple of friends or come by yourself.

Seriously, why don't we just use 2 hours tonight to make up for not being able to hang together this weekend. Okay, it's not the park.... it's something really different. But, if you've ever been to one of these you know how cool they can be!

I'm gonna sit in at the SGA Songwriter's Circle at 7:00.

Couple of things about these circles that are really swell.

One -- I get to share the stage with some really wonderful songwriters and we very often laugh as much as we sing.

Also... um... it's FREE!

AND, it's an early gig for a weeknight. The music cranks up from 7:00 - 9:00

.

Like I said, haven't been there in a long while so I don't know who's sitting in these days. But, it's always a really cool collection of songwriters.

Just take just about any train downtown to the West 4th Street Station and walk over a couple of blocks to the corner of Bleecker Street and Thompson.

Like I said before... it's FREE.

And!

I'll make sure to have a bunch of copies of the new CD with me!!!

It's not available on itunes quite yet. So, if you want your copy before anyone else, head down to the Red Lion. (I'm really proud of the songs that made it into this collection.)

I'm gonna try to figure out a way to really celebrate it's arrival. Maybe we'll just make the "Year-End Concert" in December a kind of "release party" as well as the fun tradition that gig is every year!

But, I know that there are a whole lot of you checking in here every day from across the country and in different parts of the world. The CD doesn't seem to be available to buy online quite yet. And I haven't seen it uploaded and available on itunes yet. But, I will let you know the minute that happens, okay?

I'm already thinkin' about the "Year-End Concert" in December to get all the artists on stage with me to play this thing LIVE.

Here are A few 2-minute clips from the CD:

KEEP HOPE ALIVE

INTERNET ANGEL

ANY OTHER WAY

.

AND HEY!

Yes, it looks like Attorney General Eric Holder is sticking his toe in the water regarding an investigation into the practice of torture in this country and the violation of numerous laws by members of the Bush administration.

But, this cannot be viewed as legitimate or even be taken seriously unless we all put pressure on those at the Department of Justice to actually do their jobs and prosecute everyone who broke the law. The scope of this investigation cannot be narrow or limited. It cannot be window dressing for political expediency.

My message and feelings are all here in this song and music video.

PLEASE pass it on to every single person you know in this country and around the world. (Even those people who condone the use of torture for the sake of their own security.)

Then go to YouTube and leave a comment.

See you guys here at the site all week with anew update every day! If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

.

Thanks for everything.

.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
