Listen, I know there are people reading this across the country and in different parts of the world. If you're new around here and you wanna see what this "Guitar Man" thing is all about, hit the "ARCHIVE" and have a good look around.
But, if you're in New York City and you're checking in to see when and where I'm playing this weekend... um.... I'm not.
I'M IN GERMANY!
Yeah, I'm over there for a one-night concert, arranged by 2 very cool people... Gabriele and Gregor Forster. I play the gig on Saturday night in Berlin and then fly back on Monday.
But, on Sunday I might be playing in their Central Park... "Tiergarten".
Won't THAT be cool!
"Das Gitarre Mann aus Tiergarten"
Now, we all had another typically amazing weekend in New York's Central Park this past Saturday!!! But, I won't be in town to hang with you guys this weekend.

.
But maybe by the time I get back we'll back at our real home - "The Hill"
.
And here's some good news about the final installment of the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series.
The final gig was supposed to be this Friday, August 21. But because of the Germany gig, Ian Kaley at Hudson River Park was cool enough to move the final show back a week to August 28th. So, I'll see you guys on Pier 45 a week from now to wrap up the summer down there and pay one more sundown.
Now...
If you've been coming around here at all, you know that I just recorded and released a brand new CD. It's called "Wouldn't Want It Any Other Way". Got a whole lotta different styles of songs in this collection. There are Love songs, and songs about Life, and songs to make somebody smile, and some to make people laugh. But one of the songs was made into a music video before the album was even released, because a couple of people in my circle of friends and colleagues told me that they believed the message in the song was too important to wait for the release of the CD.
Here's the original video.
Well...
The process of getting this thing out to every home in America is just beginning. There was a series of independently produced TV ads that I shot with the help of Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love, his bother Dave the editor, press-rep Laura Manske and a remarkable woman in California named Cynthia Papermaster. Those spots aired in the San Francisco Bay Area last week, but ran into some resistance and snags with NBC Universal and other networks legal departments here in the East.
So instead of fighting and digging in our heels, we simply re-shot the ads. (I've never really learned anything in my Life by getting it right the first time.)
The new spots were approved for national distribution. Here is a first look at the spot. (Let me know what you think.)
Okay! The NEW CD!
Now, like I said the new CD is called "Wouldn't Want It Any Other Way" and I'll let you know the minute you can get it online. Yeah, I know. I know. It's way overdue. But, when you hear the tracks in this collection, I think you're gonna understand why I'm sure it was important to take my time with this one.
Keep Hope Alive, Internet Angel, Some Wounds Never Heal, Resolution,
What Made America Famous, Mary Learns to Fly, Did you Fall in Love Again,
Tom Cruise Scares Me, I Can't Wait, Here Today, Any Other Way, This Moment
Ha!
I'm already thinkin' about the "Year-End Concert" in December to get all the artists on stage with me to play this thing LIVE.
I speak absolutely NO German. I always say that a person who speaks several languages is multi-lingual..... and a person who speaks 2 languages is bi-lingual.... and a person who speaks one language.... is probably an American.
So, I'm trying to learn the essential phrases and sentences I think I might need when I get there.
Ich bin sooooooooo verloren!
(I am soooooo lost!)
Haben Sie einen Park, wo ich kann singen?
(Do you have a park where I can sing?)
Kaffee! Ich brauche Kaffee
(Coffee! I need coffee!)
Ich bin... verwirrt Mann.
(I am.... a clueless man.)
Werden sie nach Hause kommen mit mir in New York?
(Will you come home with me to New York?)
.
.
Um... wish me luck!
.
Listen, I'll be back on Monday night, so there will probably another new update on Tuesday. Keep checkin' back, okay? If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.
Keep showing up guys.
Thanks for everything.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
