Hey guys...

Just landed.

(Whew!)

I'm baaaaacccckkk!

Very, VERY cool trip to Germany. Played a couple of wonderful gigs over there and shared my music with some of the kindest, interesting, most generous, coolest people I've met. I was also sooooo impacted by the experience of seeing remnants of "The Wall" and the places where it stood.

I'll tell you all about this week.

Right now... I have to get my head and my Spirit back in the same room. Then I have to make sure my attention is in the same place that my two feet are. Then I have to spend a little quiet time letting the lessons of a wonderful experience really sink in.

Oh yeah.... and laundry.

But before I do I wanna say that I really missed you guys in Central Park this past weekend!

.

But, today I might have some bad news about the weekends coming up.

Listen... I'm not sure how to handle this or what to do anymore. Maybe some of you will have an idea. But, I'm just about to throw my hands up in the air with a smile on my face and shake my head. (Even more intently, I'm going to sincerely offer as little resistance as possible to Life when it throws me those little bumps-in-the-darkness.)

That's a long way of saying, we weren't issued the Special Events Permit for this coming Saturday. Nor were we given the permit I applied for to play on Saturday, September 12th.... a day so close to the 11th that I kinda wanted to do something a little bit special.

But, if you've been coming around here at all, you already know that.... oh, y'know what? I'm not gonna get into it. I'm in a really Good place right now and i don't want to let anything this unpleasant and genuinely ridiculous to creep in.

I do know this... I know for sure that weather-permitting I'll be singing with the below-fourteenth-street crowd on Friday night for the final "Sunset on the Hudson" concert of the season.

And y'know what!?

I'm already thinkin' about the "Year-End Concert" in December. It's gonna be great to fill a hall with an amazing bunch of beautiful people, and share the stage with some truly amazing artists to close out another lap around the Sun.

Maybe before that, me and Kara the co-founder of The G.I.G Foundation will come with a smaller way to celebrate the release of the brand new collection of songs.

Okay, now like I said - - the new CD is called "Wouldn't Want It Any Other Way" and I'll let you know the minute you can get it online. Yeah, I know. I know. It's way overdue. But, when you hear the tracks in this collection, I think you're gonna understand why I'm sure it was important to take my time with this one.

Keep Hope Alive, Internet Angel, Some Wounds Never Heal, Resolution,
What Made America Famous, Mary Learns to Fly, Did you Fall in Love Again,
Tom Cruise Scares Me, I Can't Wait, Here Today, Any Other Way, This Moment

ANY OTHER WAY

.

Listen, I'll be back tomorrow with another new update. Keep checkin' back, okay? If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

Keep showing up guys.

Thanks for everything.

.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
- Dean
