Hey! I'll be getting to today's update in a minute. BUT FIRST!!!!! THIS BANNER WILL BE APPEARING HERE ON THIS WEBSITE EVERY DAY FOR A WHILE TO GIVE YOU AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE A PART OF SOMETHING POWERFUL AND GOOD.

Well...

Are you starting to feel a slight something in the air?

Are you starting to feel it?

It might be because of these spots that are going to begin airing in the San Francisco Bay area tomorrow.

As I promised, here's little preview of the TV spots that are about to hit the air out west.

EARLY PREVIEW OF THE SPOTS

I have a feeling... I have feeling the wind is about to change.

And before the end of this week, it's gonna start in The West and work it's way across the country. I'll let you all know very soon the exact days and times for the launch of this "Campaign of Reason" in other parts of the country.

(After you check out the preview, please take a minute to actually support this effort with a few bucks or whatever you can.)

Meanwhile, here in New York City I've got a couple of things to tell you about. FIRST UP - - thanks again to every single one of you who hung out with me in Central Park last Saturday. It was just another typically amazing day of music and laughs.... and, y'know.... surprises.

NEXT UP - - I know a whole lot of you have been wondering which title won the "Name the New Album" survey. The choices were:

1. Here today
2. Any Other Way
3. This Moment
4. A Generation Later
5. The White Album

Well, the top three choices were all very close. But... I decided to go with a variation of one of the contenders. So, it wasn't really actually one of the choices. (Sorry.) There are a couple of really good reasons for this decision and I hope there aren't too many people disappointed in the title. But, when I explain the reasoning, I think you'll "get it". (You guys always do!)

So...... drum roll!

The new CD, which will probably be available in less than 2 weeks.

Okay, now back to the serious stuff.

This continues to be a very interesting week around here at this website. So please make a point of stopping by everyday and I'll keep you up-to-date with what's going on and about the effort that small group of thoughtful, committed citizens are making to do the right thing in this country.

If you're new around here I can tell you this....we've got the message. We've got the commercial spots. We've got a growing number of genuinely good people all moving in the same direction and something meaningful is about to begin.

NOW WE NEED YOU TO ACTUALLY SHOW UP AND REACH INTO YOUR POCKET AND GIVE SOMETHING.... ANYTHING... SO WE CAN BUY NATIONAL AIRTIME!

Cool?

The story behind writing this project was explained pretty clearly, I hope, in this update.

Turns out, a whole lotta people are listening to the song and the message is landing.... so much so that a "small group of thoughtful, committed citizens" have decided that it should be made into some TV spots.

Now!

Click on this image to watch the first 3 commercial spots that are slated to air during Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and my two favorites, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. They'll crank up in the San Francisco area in a couple of days.

DO YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF THIS "SMALL GROUP OF THOUGHTFUL, COMMITTED CITIZENS"?

Well, we've got to ALL... yes ALL.... yes you. YOU reading this right now wherever in the country or wherever on the world you're reading this. We've got to do our best to come up with ways to raise the money to get these three TV spots in every home in America about 10 times a day for the next few weeks! I personally think the purest and best way is for every ordinary person of Reason to hit that PayPal button and donate, like 10 dollars or 50 dollars.... or, y'know... $10,000 if they can.

No, seriously.... go back up to that PayPal "Donate" button at the top of this page and step up. (I know times are hard. But, 5 or 10 bucks isn't going to break the bank, and it will pay off in the most amazing feeling of fellowship and self-esteem.)

I'm also gonna do a FREE fund raising concert this coming Friday night on Pier 45 at the end of Christopher Street in The Village, where every nickel that winds up in my guitar case goes to this worthwhile and important effort. (Hey! You can count my statistically as an official member of... "The Poor". But, somethings are worth it.) More about that as it gets closer.

It's also fun making the world a better place. The reason I wrote the song in the first place is pretty well explained in this update.

Okay... thanks for showing up!

If you're reading this in a different part of the country, I'll let you know where and when these things are gonna air as soon as I know for sure. If you're new around here, I guess you can catch up. One way is to hit the "Archive" and start browsing backward through the updates. There are years and years of updates in there.... FREE song downloads, photos, original cartoons and drawings, lotsa Photoshop images.

And for those of you reading this in different parts of the world... y'see? A lot of us do really care.

Check back all week for more updates, okay?

And...

Thanks again.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
