Welcome to the website. Welcome to all of you checking in here from across the country and different parts of the world. Here in New York, it's been a while since I've seen you guys LIVE. So it's a swell thing that we have this place to hang every day.
I'll see you guys in Central Park again on Saturday, September 5th.
Hey guys.
It's all cool. Look, chances are it's gonna rain this Saturday.
Man! A ton of email started coming in to the website after yesterday's update and the things I wrote about the Special Events Permits and not being able to play in Central Park this weekend, or on September 12th.
Everybody... I really need to say this. I don't know the reason why we don't get these permits some weekends. Sorry. I wasn't really given a reason. So I don't know what to tell you. But...
I'm done.
I'm not trying to figure it out anymore, okay?
On a much cooler note...
I just got back from what I would have to say was a perfect trip to Germany for a one-night concert and a one-day music festival. Fact is, I went there to play an event for 2 very sweet and cool people.... and came back home after having spent a weekend with 2 very good friends.
I'm gonna try to get some photos and some video of the gig on the other side of the ocean up here on the website by the weekend. (By the way.... when I was playing a set in their Central Park, The Tiergarten, I made a point of apologizing to the people of Europe for the illegal events of the Bush years! They smiled.)

HEY!!!
TOMORROW NIGHT!
Weather-permitting, we're gonna play the Sun down one more time.
It's the final installment of the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series in Hudson River Park. It's a pretty cool way to kick off your weekend. Just head down to Pier 45 all the way at the end of Christopher Street. The music will crank up at 7:00 and we hang together until 9:00.
.
Keep your fingers crossed for good weather.
The NEW CD is here!
And, I'm gonna try to figure out a way to really celebrate it's arrival. Of course, I'll have it with me at any gigs I'm playing.
But, I know that there are a whole lot of you checking in here every day from across the country and in different parts of the world. The CD doesn't seem to be available to buy online quite yet. And I haven't seen it uploaded and available on itunes yet. But, I will let you know the minute that happens, okay?
I'm already thinkin' about the "Year-End Concert" in December to get all the artists on stage with me to play this thing LIVE.
Yes, it looks like Attorney General Eric Holder is sticking his toe in the water regarding an investigation into the practice of torture in this country and the violation of numerous laws by members of the Bush administration.
But, this cannot be viewed as legitimate or even be taken seriously unless we all put pressure on those at the Department of Justice to actually do their jobs and prosecute everyone who broke the law. The scope of this investigation cannot be narrow or limited. It cannot be window dressing for political expediency.
My message and feelings are all here in this song and music video.
PLEASE pass it on to every single person you know in this country and around the world. (Even those people who condone the use of torture for the sake of their own security.)
See you guys here at the site all week with anew update every day! If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.
.
Thanks for everything.
.
PEACE
All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
