Today's update is about yesterday, today and tomorrow.
(But, not necessarily in that order.)
YESTERDAY... just another typical amazing day out in Central Park. If you were out there with me for any part of the day, or even all day, thank you so much for hangin' out with me. I'm telling you.... I'm the luckiest man alive to be able to do what I do right in the middle of the greatest city in the world - - place where people from all across the country and all around the world come to hang out with me for an afternoon of music and laughs, stories and thoughts.
Really very cool.
What a day yesterday! But, still, I always use the word "typically" to modify the word "amazing" when I describe what happens out there.
And TODAY, which hopefully will affect TOMORROW... and something I talked about YESTERDAY.
Would you take a minute right this minute, and watch this video? Then do me a favor. (I ask this sincerely and you guys know that over the course of a year, I don't generally ask for much.
Watch the video, listen to the song then take a minute, make the slight effort to go to YouTube and leave a comment about the song, about the video, and your honest thoughts and feelings about the issue they address.
Okay?

I'm really serious. Y'know? If I was smart business man, you guys would hafta wait until this brand new song is released on the new CD next month. But, this is about something more important than selling CDs. This is about taking a few moments in a Life to do what's right. (It actually feels really good to make the effort. It's just one of those little self-esteem-building things that doesn't take a whole lot of time.) The point of the song is to raise the level of dialogue, national discourse and awareness about torture in our name... yours and mine.
So, leave a comment. Be heard. Trust me.... you'll feel Good that you did for the rest of the day today.
Also TODAY... I'm gonna have a meeting with a guy who is friend of my good, good friend Sid Bernstein and then I'm gonna shoot up to the Bronx with a new friend from "The Hill", Andrea, to catch the first Old Timer's Day in the new Yankee Stadium. (While I'm there I think I'll probably take the time to give Texiera a few pointers on his swing.

Hey! I hope you guys caught what I aid about the passing of Walter Cronkite. I meant it. And I was so happy to be asked to sing a song in his honor and memory. I'm sure you guys are not aware of this.... b, the man who's making the film this year about "That Guitar Man from Central Park", (Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love) actually worked very closely with Mr. Cronkite on the last news project he did in this Lifetime. Got to know Walter pretty well. He had to talk to CNN and other companies throughout the day, but he and his colleague James DeForte still came out to shoot you guys for the documentary.
Okay...
Also gotta tell you that if you signed the email list yesterday or Friday night at Pier 45 in the Village, I'm gonna enter all the addresses tomorrow. So, I'll keep you up-to-date on the release of the new album and upcoming concerts and stuff.
Okay... couple of new things around here today. Well, for one thing I see that the webmaster, James Marino, hads posted a link so you guys can do this new FACEBOOK thing with me. It''s not the other FaceBook page that I've got. So if you're connected to that one, join this one as well, okay? It's called a "fan" page... but I prefer to think of it as "the people who hang out with me" page. (It's over there on the right, near the link if you wanna start following me on TWITTER.)
Um, time to get back to the survey.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
