Hey guys!

There's a lot going on around here these days. I mean, we always have fun around here, but we also "pay attention". And there are a couple of new things to talk about today. One of them is the new song and video "Resolution".

Here's the original video:

Right now, right over there on the right of this page on the top, first thing you see is a place you can find the phone number and email address of your Attorney General, Eric Holder. (Yes, your Attorney General. The man works for you.) There's a reason that you might wanna think about emailing him today to ask him to... um... do his job. See the banner up at the top that says RESOLUTION?Tha's where you will also be able to actually "show up" in a meaningful way to help us launch a TV ad campaign this coming week to start a brush fire in this country. DONATE a few bucks or whatever you can to make this world a better place. (More about that in a minute.)

All of you across the country and different parts of the world... welcome to the website!

To those of you here in New York City, welcome to the weekend and another couple of chances to hang together with some music and laughs.

TONIGHT!

Sorry guys! We're rained out for tonight!

We were supposed to head to Pier 45 all the way at the end of Christopher Street and play the Sun down between 7:00 and 9:00.

But, it ain't happenin' tonight

But don't worry...

TOMORROW! The weather's lookin' perfect for a day in Central Park! But, we're NOT gonna be in our usual location at "The Hill". (Hernshead) We'll be right across on the south side of The Lake in a spot called "Cherry Hill". (A place I affectionately call The Away Game.)

. .
You guys actually get a spectacular view

I'll be back tomorrow morning with a map for you guys.

RIGHT NOW!

I'm going to be appealing to you for your help this week and next. If you've seen the video and actually gotten your mind and your heart around what the song is trying to say, I hope you'll understand that this is not about revenge, retribution or punishment. It's about doing what's right and keeping the rule of law intact. It's about holding onto the right to call ourselves "civilized". It's about appealing to, what Abraham Lincoln called, "the better angels of our nature".

It's about simply admitting the Truth.

So, if this thing starts a wave.... I hope every single person of Reason reading this right now is ready to jump on and ride it. Trust me... it'll feel good and you can actually have fun trying to make the world a better place. I'll probably be posting this wonderful quote from Margaret Mead a lot in the coming weeks.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed... it's the only thing that ever has."

The song is called "Resolution" for a reason. (The reasoning behind writing this song was explained pretty clearly, I hope, in this update.)

Turns out, a whole lotta people are listening to the song and the message is landing.... so much so that a "small group of thoughtful, committed citizens" have decided that it should be made into some TV spots.

At this point, after days and days of work and tireless effort by Laura Manske, and Emmy Award-winning director Dean Love, and his brother professional editor Dave Love, and a true patriot whom I just met over the phone yesterday named Cynthia Papermaster.... I actually believe we're gonna pull this off.

DO YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF THIS "SMALL GROUP OF THOUGHTFUL, COMMITTED CITIZENS"?

Click on this image to watch one of the three commercials.

Then... we hafta raise $50,000 but it's gotta start somewhere!

(I'm serious about this.)

Hit the PayPal button way up there at the top of this page where it says RESOLUTION! That whole thing is going to this ad campaign. Every nickel!!! So donate whatever you can!!! We need the help!

Make a difference. BE the change you want to see in this country and the world.

Okay guys...

I'll be back with an update about the release of the new CD! I promised you guys a few sample tracks from the upcoming CD. ever got to it because me and some friends and colleagues were.... um... busy trying to... y'know... make the world a better place. Ha! It's hard! Takes time!

But, a promise is a promise. So, here. A few 2-minute clips:

MARY LEARNS TO FLY

Okay, I'm outta here!

Sorry about the gig tonight! We'll be back down there next Friday night!

Anybody who's new around here, take some time to look around. There's an awful lotta fun stuff in The Archive, going back a whole bunch of years.

Thanks again.... for everything.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
