Into the week...

Here we are, on a day I guess we're gonna call "Tuesday". (But I promise you, at the bottom of the ocean.... it's business as usual.)

I'm gonna hafta let you guys know what's up with the music for this weekend. I still haven't heard from the Permit Office at the Parks Department for this weekend.

Uy!

Hoping we'll all be about in Central Park again this coming Saturday afternoon. I'll try to let you know here tomorrow. Check back.

I know for a fact that, weather-permitting, we'll all be down on Pier 45 in the Village... playing the sun down over the Hudson River on Friday night between 7:00 and 9:00. Let you know more about that as it gets closer.

Yesterday, did a little interesting thing. If you've been coming around here since before the year 2000, you might remember that I had a lot of laughs with Regis Philbin doin' on a show called "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire"

The producers contacted me and asked me and 9 other people to show up a the studio to play the game for a rehearsal for Philbin's upcoming 11 day return to the show. Get him back up to speed. Kinda fun day.

And, I met some really sweet people.

Really.

cool.

But for today...

Hey listen, you guys know that I consider myself the luckiest man alive. I do. For sooooooo many reasons that I sometimes have a difficult time putting into words. (Not good news for a writer.) I hope you all know that I have an awful lot of fun an awful lotta the time. I laugh more than I don't. I smile more than I don't. When I cry, I cry for real and from a genuine place. And you know that I write and sing songs about "Possibility" and "Love" and "Hope" and "Sex" and "Romance" and "Life" and... once in a while about "Tom Cruise".

(Tomorrow, I'm gonna try to post some PREVIEWS of some of the new tracks.)

BUT!

I released one song from the upcoming CD early because I really feel that NOW is that time to act on this!!!

It's called "RESOLUTION"

I also asked that each of you take just a few minutes out of your day to help pass this thing around the internet. Send the the link to everyone you can think of. And most importantly... to LEAVE A COMMENT ON THE YOUTUBE PAGE!

Well, a good, good ol' friend of mine, the guy who used to play fiddle with me back in the Bleecker Street days, took it one step farther. Being the kick-ass artist that he is, he took the time to design a banner for the idea surrounding this song. (You can pass this around the internet, too. Send it to EVERYONE you know!)

The man I call "MV"

The artist's name is Bob Vail. (The guy I often refer to as "MV". Long story.)

Anyway... thanks MV!

Please, please, please... go watch the "Resolution" video and pass the link on to at least 1 friend who might "get it". Then take a minute to leave a comment, no matter how brief, on the YouTube page. It would mean a lot to me.

My friends and colleagues an I worked so hard on the song and the purpose is to raise the level of discourse in this country around the issue of torture, decency, principle and justice.

YOUR COMMENTS

Okay...

I'm outta here. gotta a lot on my plate today.

I'll see you back here tomorrow and every day this week with a new update... maybe even some fun video. If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

.

Thanks for everything.

.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
