Hey, if you're checking in here from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, I hope you're havin' a great weekend wherever you are and whatever you're doing.

Here in New York City, I wish you the same thing. But I'm sorry to say, me and my guitar are not gonna be a part of it today.

We were not issued the Special Events Permit I applied for from the Permit Office at The Parks Department. So.... no music in Central Park this today.

Sorry.

Hey, if you were hangin' out with me last night on Pier 45 in The Village... thanks again. Had a good, good time.

No... "actually"... (Y'see? I say that a lot!) ... I actually had an exceptionally good time singin' with you guys last night. Maybe it was because I knew I'd really miss hangin' out with you today.

TODAY... to ease my mind and spirit and to keep myself from getting nuts about not being able to hang wit you guys today, I'm gonna head down to The Apple Store and take one of their free workshops so I can get better at crankin' out songs and video here at the website. I have a lot of things I wanna sing about and speak out about.... a lot of passion behind what I do as an artist. I just wanna work on my chops so I can do it better.

Here's the latest video I've put out. I really would love it if you... YES YOU... would take just a minute to respond to it with a comment on the YouTube page when you're done watching it. I mean, if it stokes any kind of thought or feeling in you, I'd love for you to the YouTube page and be heard.

YOUR COMMENTS

If you've been coming around here at all you know that I'm just wrapping up the new album. I'm really jazzed about getting it out to you guys soon. There are songs about Love and Life and hope and sex and romance and, of course, the newest version of "Tom Cruise Scares Me". But, this one track on the CD couldn't wait so I released it early.

Okay... couple of new things around here today. Well, for one thing I see that the webmaster, James Marino, hads posted a link so you guys can do this new FACEBOOK thing with me. It''s not the other FaceBook page that I've got. So if you're connected to that one, join this one as well, okay? It's called a "fan" page... but I prefer to think of it as "the people who hang out with me" page. (It's over there on the right, near the link if you wanna start following me on TWITTER.)

Um, time to get back to the survey.

NAME THE CD

The chore of picking the name for the new CD is gonna fall to you guys this year.

I'll give you a choice of 5 titles that I'm thinking of, and you can choose from them. I'll also give you the list of the tracks that are gonna be on the album. You can pick one of the songs to be the title track. OR... you can write in a suggestion of your own.... something you feel the CD should be named.

Okay, here are the tracks that are gonna be on the CD, in no particular order.

1. Any Other Way
2. Mary Learns to Fly
3. Here today
4. Internet Angel (original version)
5. Some Wounds Never Heal
6. I Can't Wait (Unplugged)
7. Tom Cruise Scares Me '09
8. Did You Fall in Love Again (Solo acoustic version)
9. Resolution: The Torture Song
10. Keep Hope Alive
11. What Made America Famous
12. This Moment

Okay, here are the suggestions from which to choose.

PICK A TITLE

1. Here Today
2. Any Other Way
3. And a Generation Later...
4. This Moment
5. The White Album

Or, write in a suggestion of your own! CLICK ON THIS LINK TO SEND IN YOUR SUGGESTION. Vote for your favorite, and I'll keep you posted in the front-runners. We'll keep this thing going until the mix on the last track is final.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
