New work week.

Sooooo much to do.

Hey listen, I'm glad we got out to the park for at least a little while on Saturday afternoon. (Although... what I call "a little while" is a monster set for most artists.)

I guess w were out there for about 3 and a half hours on Saturday. I'm just used to playing for 5 or 6 hours!

Um, today.... this is gonna be a short update. I'm trying to get my mind around a new computer right now. (AND.... bonehead that I am, as I'm sitting here writing this I'm thinking that it's entirely possible I lost ALL of the music I had in itunes!)

AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Oh well... "Much Better View of the Moon" time again.

(I know that means something to a lot of you.)

But I can tell you this. Last night Brian Bauers and I worked for 4 hours, tweaking, mixing, fake-compressing, tweaking-again the mixes for the new collection of songs. I have one more session tonight..... I think, and that oughta do it!!!! Then it's time to sit with the songs for a little while and let them sink in..... just t see if there's one more round of tweaking to do. Then, it's time to get this sucker out to you guys.

I'm excited for all of you to hear it.

A handful of you sent in pics of JC's debut out at the Hill" on Saturday. I'll try to post them this week. I had a really good time running some of the brand new songs by you guys on Saturday. And it was great to have my friend and colleague, JC, come out and lay down the rap section on the new song "Resolution". That was a first!!! Gotta get Teresa Reynolds out there now.

The timing might be right for good people of Reason to get behind this song and start passing it all around the internet.

Here's the song.

We'll get back to naming the CD, but what I'll do this week is give you guys a little sample of some of the tracks so that you're not basing your suggestions solely on the titles of the songs. I'll give you samples like this track from the new collection.

INTERNET ANGEL (sample)

Fun, right?

Here are the titles of the other tracks on the CD, in no particular order.

1. Any Other Way
2. Mary Learns to Fly
3. Here today
4. Internet Angel (original version)
5. Some Wounds Never Heal
6. I Can't Wait (Unplugged)
7. Tom Cruise Scares Me '09
8. Did You Fall in Love Again (Solo acoustic version)
9. Resolution: The Torture Song
10. Keep Hope Alive
11. What Made America Famous
12. This Moment

Okay, here are the suggestions from which to choose.

PICK A TITLE

1. Here Today
2. Any Other Way
3. And a Generation Later...
4. This Moment
5. The White Album

Or, write in a suggestion of your own! CLICK ON THIS LINK TO SEND IN YOUR SUGGESTION. Vote for your favorite, and I'll keep you posted in the front-runners. We'll keep this thing going until the mix on the last track is final. I've been getting a truckload of responses to the survey. (It's kinda funny. I'm actually getting more original write-in votes and suggestions than selections from the list of possible titles I posted.)

But among the suggested titles, the leaders right now are:

1. Here Today
2. Any Other Way
3. This Moment

(Seems only a few of you thought "The White Album" was a good idea!)

Okay... couple of new things around here today. Well, for one thing I see that the webmaster, James Marino, hads posted a link so you guys can do this new FACEBOOK thing with me. It''s not the other FaceBook page that I've got. So if you're connected to that one, join this one as well, okay? It's called a "fan" page... but I prefer to think of it as "the people who hang out with me" page. (It's over there on the right, near the link if you wanna start following me on TWITTER.)

See you guys here at the site all week with a new update every day! If you're new around here, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

.

Thanks for everything.

.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
