Okay...

Before I get into today's update.

Please, please, please... go watch the "Resolution" video and pass the link on to at least 1 friend who might "get it". Then take a minute to leave a comment, no matter how brief, on the YouTube page. It would mean a lot to me.

My friends and colleagues an I worked so hard on the song and the purpose is to raise the level of discourse in this country around the issue of torture, decency, principle and justice. Would you take a minute right this minute, and watch this video? Then do me a favor. (I ask this sincerely and you guys know that over the course of a year, I don't generally ask for much.)

Okay?

Okay... TODAY!

Welcome to everyone stopping by this website from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. I think it;s so cool that you guys check in here every day. But, if you're here in New York City and you're showing up to see where I'm gonna be hangin' out with my guitar, you might wanna check back tomorrow as well.

AND you might wanna keep your fingers crossed.

First of all, it look s like I will NOT be playing in Central Park this weekend.

Sorry.

I wasn't issued the permit I applied for from the Permit Office at the Parks Department. Listen they have a tough job over there. (But, sometimes I have a feeling there's a little more to it than that.)

Oh well. don't get pissed off. Just keep your fingers crossed for good weather tomorrow night (Friday) so we can play the Sun down and start the weekend of with some music and laughs.

Yes! The "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series picks back up again. I'll be singing and playing the Sun down over the Hudson River on Pier 45 in The Village. It's a very cool thing. Just take the #1 train to Christopher Street and walk west until you either see me, or you get wet, or wind up in Jersey. (I'll be hangin' out in the middle of the Hudson River at the end of Pier 45)

Same kind of hang as in Central Park, only this goes from 7:00 to 9pm and we play the sun down with the Statue of Liberty looking on. Like just about everything else I do, it's FREE.

If you're not doing anything and you need to get that fix of that "It's Just Us" feeling, head down to Pier 45 at the very end of Christopher Street. Bring a blanket and hang out with the below-fourteenth-street-crowd.

.

Hey...

Really sorry about Central Park this weekend. I have a feeling we might have a really good day weather-wise.

But again... check back tomorrow. Because the following week, we'll all be switching locations for a while.

Remember years ago when the Parks Department would fence off "The Hill" at Hernshead in the middle of the summer season, and we would travel to the other side of the Lake to a hill I call "The Away Game"? (Actually it's called "Cherry Hill") We're gonna hafta head back there starting August 1.

I'll explain tomorrow.

Oh by the way... about "Resolution. If you want a free download of the song: CLICK ON THIS LINK

See you guys here at the site all weekend with a new update every day! If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

.

Thanks for everything.

.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
