Hey guys.

If you're reading this in a different part of the country or a different part of the world.... welcome to the website.

If you're here in New York City, I'll have an update on where we're gonna be hangin' together this weekend to share some music and laughs in The Village and in Central Park.

HEY!!!!

I have some clips of the BRAND NEW tracks we're wrapping in the studio. (Further down the page. But, first I have a story to tell you.)

Y'see...

I wrote a song.

Well, actually I've written a truckload of songs. And, that's a good thing because it's kinda what I'm supposed to be doing with my Life. It's also what I do for a living. I'm a very, very lucky man.

I've also learned that when a songwriter is writing from a True place he or she doesn't often get to write the next song they want to write, but rather the next song that wants to be written. That was the case with every song that's gonna be in this new collection. (I'll have that new CD available for you guys within 3 weeks or a month or so, I think.) But getting back to the story...

I wrote a song.

Y'see? If you've been coming around here at all for any length of time, you've heard me say that I'm politically a registered Independent who is not a flag-waving, blind-partisan-patriot, but rather a man who loves the "ideal" of America and the principles upon which this nation was founded. I also feel that as an artist, my purpose is to put my honest opinion of what the Truth might be at any given moment of my Life into my song, whether it's to touch someone's heart, make them laugh, make them think or simply let them know that they are not alone. And as an American singer/songwriterr a percentage of my job, a part of my job description is to "comfort the disturbed.... and disturb the comfortable." Well...

I wrote a song.

And then with the help of some of the beautiful, enthusiastic, Life-loving, funny, sexy, intelligent people in my circle of friends and colleagues, I recorded it and then followed the inspiration to make a video to help carry the message. (Told you, I'm very lucky man. I love the company.)

I did all this for no other purpose other than.... it' what I do. It's what I'm meant to be doing. It's at I do for a living. It's what feeds my soul. It's what makes me excited about getting up every day.

Okay.... here's the song and the video.

After you've watched the "Resolution" video and pass the link on to at least 1 friend who might "get it". Then take a minute to leave a comment, no matter how brief, on the YouTube page. It would mean a lot to me.

Listen, we all had fun and felt really Good working so hard on a track I hoped would cross generation, genre, race, gender and ideology. We're all hoping that a song like this raise the level of discourse in this country around the issue of torture, decency, principle and justice. Thinking about whatever small way it might help make this world a better place, we were jazzed about the work.

Now.... wanna know how you feel about the subject of the song. Go to YouTube and leave a comment sometime today, okay?

NOW!

Getting back to the music this weekend!!!!!

YES! I will be back in Central Park this weekend. (Although you're gonna hafta check back tomorrow when I'm clear about the location. This year has been a little bit strange in that regard.)

OH!!!!!

And yeah, I'm gonna be playing the Sun down over the Hudson River as the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series continues this Friday night at 7:00.

BUT!!!

You wanna hear a couple of samples from the new CD!? I'M GONNA BE BACK IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES with samples clips of these 3 new songs!

KEEP HOPE ALIVE

INTERNET ANGEL

ANY OTHER WAY

Okay? Come right back!?

Okay, I gotta get busy. (Changing the world for the better is hard work!)

But, again.... THANK YOU to every single person who's ever shared an afternoon with me and my guitar. And thanks so much for showing up here at the website. Try to stop by every day.

I'll see you back here tomorrow and every day this week with a new update... maybe even some fun video. If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

.

Thanks for everything.

.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
