GOT SOME REALLY INTERESTING STUFF HAPPENING AROUND THE NEW SONG "RESOLUTION" - - AND OUR EFFORT TO SEE IF WE CAN GET PEOPLE OF REASON TO MAKE IT "COOL TO CARE" IN THIS COUNTRY AGAIN.
(More about that in a minute.)
Hey, if you're checking in here from a different part of the country or a different part of the world.... welcome to the Big Apple. If you're here in New York City and you're wondering where I was on Saturday.... sorry. Due to circumstances waaayyyy beyond my control, we weren't issued a Special Events Permit for this weekend. It's all cool. I'm hoping to see you guys this coming Friday night down in The Village on Pier 45 and then on Saturday afternoon back in Central Park.
But, this week... we'll probably move cross The Lake to the location I call "The Away Game". (It's really an area called Cherry Hill.)
Yesterday, through the kindness of a new friend from "The Hill", I was given 2 tickets to take the man I call "Pop" up to the new Yankee Stadium to spend a great father/son summer afternoon together watching baseball.
(I call him "Pop".... um... well.... because he's my father.)
It was great fro the two of us to become two teenagers just catchin' a game together on a beautiful summer afternoon in the greatest city in the world. Here's a shot of him up the stadium yesterday...
And here's a little "Field of Dreams" image I did for myself a while back.
That's me and young Joe Ippolito
Yeah...
Yesterday was one of those "good" days. A keeper.

Okay...
NOW!
(I'm tellin' you... changing the world for the better is hard work!)
But, this is kind of important to me.
If you've been coming around here at all you know that I'm just wrapping up the new album. I'm really jazzed about getting it out to you guys soon. There are songs about Love and Life and hope and sex and romance and, of course, the newest version of "Tom Cruise Scares Me". But, one track on the CD couldn't wait so I released it early... and even put together a video this week to get it out to the public.
It's called "RESOLUTION"
I also asked that each of you take just a few minutes out of your day to help pass this thing around the internet. Send the the link to everyone you can think of. And most importantly... to LEAVE A COMMENT ON THE YOUTUBE PAGE!
Well, a good, good ol' friend of mine, the guy who used to play fiddle with me back in the Bleecker Street days, took it one step farther. Being the kick-ass artist that he is, he took the time to design a banner for the idea surrounding this song. (You can pass this around the internet, too. Send it to EVERYONE you know!)

The artist's name is Bob Vail. (The guy I often refer to as "MV". Long story.)
Anyway... thanks MV!
Please, please, please... go watch the "Resolution" video and pass the link on to at least 1 friend who might "get it". Then take a minute to leave a comment, no matter how brief, on the YouTube page. It would mean a lot to me.
My friends and colleagues an I worked so hard on the song and the purpose is to raise the level of discourse in this country around the issue of torture, decency, principle and justice.

I'll see you back here tomorrow and every day this week with a new update... maybe even some fun video. If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.
.
Thanks for everything.

PEACE

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
