Welcome to the website today.

Listen, I'm actually on "planet commercial work" today. Y'know, once in a while if somebody casts me in a TV commercial-type thing or drops a script in my lap, I know what to do with it so it's one more way I make a living sometimes. That's what I'm doing with the first part of my day today.

BUT later today.... I'm gonna play a couple of songs at a memorial for one of "The People on the Hill". (More about that in a minute.)

First, I wanna tell you guys that I received the Special Events permits for this weekend. So, after I get the Sound Device Permit from the NYPD, we'll be all set to spend our first July 4th together in Central Park.

Seriously.... in all the years I've been sharing music and laughs with you guys out there, I don't think we've ever spent an Independence Day together. I might actually have a really cool idea for this Saturday. So make sure you check back tomorrow and Friday.

I know a lot of you are checking in here from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. But, if you're gonna be in New York City for the holiday weekend, plan on coming out to "The Hill" and hang with me, okay?

Y'see.... this is what I'm thinkin'.

What a perfect day, symbolically and practically, to shoot a video of the new song "RESOLUTION"!!!!

You wanna be in it!?

I'll see if I can get JC Hall and Teresa Reynolds to come out and sing the thing with me. then we'll take a couple of runs at it. Put the damned thing up on the internet and change the country for the better!!!!

Y'think?

Worth trying?

Here's the song I wish I didn't have to write:

Okay.

TODAY... something kinda special.

This is for anyone who has been hanging out, sharing music and laughs with me on "The Hill" for any length of time. Y'see, this guy's has been coming there since day ONE.

"Some have been there from the start...."

John MacAlinden was a friend or at least familiar friendly face to many, many people in the hill. He died two Sunday's ago on the anniversary of the very first day I became "That Guitar Man from Central Park", which is also the day I first met John.

TODAY his family is having a little gathering to celebrate his Life, his love of people, his love of Central Park... a gathering to celebrate John. It will be on the east side of the park at the East 90th Street entrance near the reservoir at about 7:15pm.

Hope I see you there.

And, I hope I see you back here tomorrow.

And, I hope I see you in the park on The Fourth of July!

Thanks for everything.

.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
