Man! What a ride this past 18 hours! (I'll explain further down the page.)

Let me start today's update by welcoming everybody who's checkin' in here from across the country and different parts of the world.

Here in NYC... last night we had another really swell night hangin' out on Pier 45 in The Village playing the Sun down.

But today... right now I'm afraid the weather looks like it's still throwing a big wet blanket on our season in Central Park. It's raining as I write this... so I guess I'll see you guys next weekend. I mean, we had a couple of golden days together out there on "The Hill" so far. But this rain can get really frustrating if I let it.

Y'see, but...

I've decided I won't let it.

Well... HA! For one thing, I think I found an actually practical use for

(For the life of me, I've been thinkin' it's about the most pointless fad I've seen in a long time.) BUT, if you follow me on Twitter this season, you'll be able to get last-minute, up-to-the-minute updates wherever you are about whether I"m heading to the park or heading to the Pier on shaky days like this without having to come to this website every time.

So, go to Twitter and sign up to start following me. Maybe we'll have some fun with it in other ways, too. It's like, right? And then she's all, I mean, it's like... I know. lol :-)

Seriously, not gonna let this weather get me down or distracted. I've got too many things to be workin' on. Too much to say with the new songs. too much to do to get the music and the message out to this world. Got some really wonderful people in my corner now, and things are looking good for an unapologetic "possibility-junkie".

In fact, I'm feelin' so good about what we've accomplished in the last 18 hours (...and 2 months) I might just release a powerful new song later today or tomorrow.

Check back.

I was in the studio all week with engineer/musician Brian Bauers and an incredible line-up of wonderful people and artists, culminating in a last-minute late-night session to get this particular song in the can in time for "Torture Accountability Action Day" this coming Thursday.

I was just finishing up on the Pier last night and I got a text from Brian saying that we could get into the studio last night after the gig. We went in and put the finishing touches on the song. Check back tomorrow okay. i'll have more. i'm actually debating how to roll this song out to all of you guys and to the entire country.

I think I'm gonna need the help- of every single one of you. I'm gonna need a hand from every single Good, caring, reasonable, passionate person reading this right now.

I mean it.

I'll let you know more tomorrow and all next week. It's gonna be cool. Anyway, hope this rain holds off and I see your shining faces later today. (But, it ain't lookin' good.) Check Twitter!!!

Anyway, again.... about this song and the reason I need your help this week. I have a very, very powerful feeling about this song.

Gotta start marshaling and rallying people of all stripes.... I want this song to cross genre, cross gender, cross race, cross generation, cross political parties. I want every single person of Reason to get behind this song.

I might even try to approach Shepard Smith of FOX News about this song and the project I want to link to it.

Now, if you've been coming around here at all, you know how strongly I feel about FOX "News" and shallow-minded blowhards like Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck and poisonous, fear-based, Spiritually-bankrupt individuals like Sean Hannity.

BUT... a regular visitor to this website sent me this video and it knocked my socks off.

Yeah...

In this instance, Mr. Smith needs to go to Washington with us.

Listen, I have to get back to work.

Part of my job description is, of course - "To comfort the disturbed... and disturb the comfortable.

So in keeping with the first part of that equation, I wanna leave you once again today with this song as a FREE download.

HERE TODAY

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
