Hey... welcome to the website.

Sorry there was no update yesterday. Everything's cool, but yesterday was such a mix of really wonderful stuff and really frustrating stuff... a little Life salad all in one day. I'm not gonna get into it all, but it had to do with one of my 4 sisters, her 2 sons, a whole lotta rain, the Long Island Railroad, a children's bone specialist, 3 subway trains, one taxi, a lost cell phone, a canceled gig.... and some strawberry ice cream.

Yeah, that just about sums it up.

Fell behind a little bit yesterday. But, today's a day for catching up and movin' on.

First things first... even though the weather is probably gonna be great, I think there's only gonna be one opportunity for us to hang together this weekend if we wanna share some music and some laughs.

Y'see... the people over in the Permit Office at the Parks Department didn't issue a permit for this Saturday afternoon. (I think it's the ol' stuff about the weddings that take place out on that little peninsula at Hernshead. But, whatever. It's not worth getting pissed off about.) I'm a very lucky man to have been playing music for you guys in that park for as long as I have and I never forget that.

BUT.... I will be starting off this year's "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series down in The Village on Friday night!

That's a very, very cool... very New York way to kick off a weekend if you're staying in town. I play the Sun down from 7:00 to 9:00pm as it sets over New Jersey. Like just about everything else I do, it's FREE.

If you're not doing anything and you need to get that fix of that "It's Just Us" feeling, head down to Pier 45 at the very end of Christopher Street. Bring a blanket and hang out with the below-fourteenth-street-crowd.

.

Hey listen....

I'm probably gonna be back a little later with another update. And, I'll definitely be back tomorrow with another update. I have a few videos I wanna share with you guys.

In the meantime, I say this all the time, but it's true - - I'm the luckiest man alive.

And so, I very often try to make a few songs down-loadable for FREE. Here are a few - a love song, a couple with social consciousness, and... something just for fun.

ANOTHER 15 YEARS

WHERE'S THE VOICE

THE RELIGION SONG

TOM CRUISE SCARES ME

If we're not gonna be able to hang together in Central Park this weekend, I'm gonna really try to make a big push to the finish line on the new CD.

Okay... gotta get back to work. Thanks for showing up here today.

Maybe I'll see you FRIDAY NIGHT!

Thanks for everything.

.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
- Dean
