Hey!

Welcome to the website. Welcome to everyone checking in here from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. If you're here in New York City this weekend....

I know. I know. You're checking in to see if I'm heading out to "The Hill" in Central Park to share some music and laughs with you guys.

Sorry.

No Music Today.

Hey listen.... it's raining!

And, I think it's gonna be raining off and on all day. (I've heard it's supposed to rain off and on for many, many years.) Besides, the people in the Permit Office at The Parks Department didn't give us a permit for today. So, I won't see you in Central Park until next Saturday.

But next Saturday... we pick right up where we left off!

There's so much to say - so much to sing about. There's so much to laugh about, and so much to care about. It's gonna be a great season. I can feel it. (It already is.)

Had a good time last night with all of you who made it down to Pier 45 for the very first installment of the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series. Gonna have some fun down there this year, too.

Thanks to everyone who showed up. (The new sound system sounded great, right!?) And this year's sound-man, Angel, really knows his way around a board.

AND TONIGHT...

I'm soooooo psyched. I've got Dave Marcus coming all the way up from Maryland to get in the studio and we're gonna lay down some vocal tracks for the new CD. Janet Kirker will probably be in on this session, too.

.

OKAY...

NAME THE CD

The chore of picking the name for the new CD is gonna fall to you guys this year.

I'll give you a choice of 5 titles that I'm thinking of, and you can choose from them. I'll also give you the list of the tracks that are gonna be on the album. You can pick one of the songs to be the title track. OR... you can write in a suggestion of your own.... something you feel the CD should be named.

Okay, here are the tracks that are gonna be on the CD, in no particular order.

1. Any Other Way
2. Mary Learns to Fly
3. Here today
4. Internet Angel (original version)
5. Some Wounds Never Heal
6. I Can't Wait (Unplugged)
7. Tom Cruise Scares Me '09
8. Did You Fall in Love Again (Solo acoustic version)
9. The Torture Song (Are You Listening Liz Cheney)
10. Keep Hope Alive
11. What Made America Famous
12. This Moment

Okay, here are the suggestions from which to choose.

PICK A TITLE

1. Here Today
2. Any Other Way
3. And a Generation Later...
4. This Moment
5. The White Album

Or, write in a suggestion of your own! CLICK ON THIS LINK TO SEND IN YOUR SUGGESTION. Vote for your favorite, and I'll keep you posted in the front-runners. We'll keep this thing going until the mix on the last track is final.

I'll be back here tomorrow with another update.

If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

Thanks for showing up here today. If you're in town, maybe I'll see you next Saturday in Central Park.

Thanks for everything.

.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
