Hey.... missed you guys in Central Park this weekend. But, we had a really good time kicking off the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series on Friday night. That was very cool.

But, it's a new week and I'm already looking forward to hangin' out with you in Central Park on Saturday to begin another 18 years at "The Hill".

IN THE NEWS - Michelle Obama brought her daughters to Buckingham Palace and had tea with her new BFF, Queen Elizabeth.

How nice for them.

Reminded me of the time I went... and got thrown out on my ass.

.

IN OTHER NEWS - - The Iranian people, especially the young and the women, are making us look like a timid bunch of wimps. In the midst of suspicion that their election for president was stolen, they're pouring into the streets all around the world to protest like American used to do during the Viet Nam war. In the year 2000, we all rolled over.... and look what happened.

What the hell happened to us!?

. . .

We got distracted, fat, lazy, systematically misinformed and dumbed-down.

Well, I'm workin' on a song that I can't wait to release to all of you... VERY soon. It's tenetatively called "The Torture Song (Are you listening Liz Cheney)"

Hopefully we'll all be singing it in Central Park before the end of the summer!

OH LISTEN...

This coming Saturday I might hafta make it a little bit of a shorter concert than usual. I'm trying to arrange a gig for some "Hill People" who are getting married and really wanna have a New York Wedding. I guess they figure if you're gonna have a New York Wedding, you might wanna include "That Guitar Man from Central Park".

So... I'll keep you posted. If there's ANY way to work this out I'm gonna try to do it. I might be able to play at "The Hill" until around 4:30 or 5:00. Does that sound cool?

So, maybe think about getting to the park a little earlier next weekend.

Yeah, if it works out we'll hang from 12:30 until about 4:30 or 5:00

But, I'll keep you posted.

ANYWAY.... welcome to a new week! We had an amazing session in the studio last night, working on the new CD. I mean.... really amazing. This collection of songs is really evolving. And, the chore of picking the name for the new CD is gonna fall to you guys this year.

The emails are already coming in!!!

I'm givin' you a choice of 5 titles that I'm thinking of, and you can choose from them. I'll also give you the list of the tracks that are gonna be on the album. You can pick one of the songs to be the title track. OR... you can write in a suggestion of your own.... something you feel the CD should be named.

Okay, here are the tracks that are gonna be on the CD, in no particular order.

1. Any Other Way
2. Mary Learns to Fly
3. Here today
4. Internet Angel (original version)
5. Some Wounds Never Heal
6. I Can't Wait (Unplugged)
7. Tom Cruise Scares Me '09
8. Did You Fall in Love Again (Solo acoustic version)
9. The Torture Song (Are You Listening Liz Cheney)
10. Keep Hope Alive
11. What Made America Famous
12. This Moment

Okay, here are the suggestions from which to choose.

PICK A TITLE

1. Here Today
2. Any Other Way
3. And a Generation Later...
4. This Moment
5. The White Album

Or, write in a suggestion of your own! CLICK ON THIS LINK TO SEND IN YOUR SUGGESTION. Vote for your favorite, and I'll keep you posted in the front-runners. We'll keep this thing going until the mix on the last track is final.

I'll be back here tomorrow with another update.

If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

Thanks for showing up here today. If you're in town, maybe I'll see you next Saturday in Central Park.

Thanks for everything.

.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
