Hey... the weather's lookin' pretty good right now for another great Saturday afternoon in Central Park. If you're gonna be in town, I hope you decided to hang out with me for a while.
I looked at the stats for this website and I noticed that there are a lot of new people hitting this every day. (People from all across the country and from different parts of the world hang with us in Central Park every weekend. So, this is the time of year that a lot of new people start coming to the website.)
I guess I hafta suggest that you take a little time to "search" the site for different things, or just browse through the ARCHIVE.
I say this all the time, but it's true.... I'm the luckiest man alive.
And so, I very often try to make a few songs downloadable for FREE.
Here are a few - a love song, a couple with social consciousness, and... something just for fun.
I promised myself I'm gonna start playing more original songs out in the park. I get email after email during the week from people asking why I don't play this song or that song. I'm gonna try to remember to get to more of them this weekend.
One thing was just brought to my attention this morning. My old nemesis, Stephen Colbert, is slated to edit the June 8th edition of Newsweek Magazine.
Brought me back to better times... and a little song I wrote about our long-lost friendship.
Here.... got another video for you. I posted this yesterday, but I thought I'd give any of you who happened to be hanging out at this particular part of the afternoon another chance to send the link to any of your friends and family across the country - - let them share in your weekend in Central Park.
Click on the image, and if you see yourself, send the link to your peeps all over the place.
I'm hoping you guys have been checking out the videos on YouTube. Do me a favor... if you watch them, go ahead and leave a comment. It's cool to hear what's on you mind.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
