Well, tell you what. Today is supposed to be "Opening Day" at The Hill in Central Park.
OKAY. WHAT THE HELL. LET'S GO.
Kind of an inauspicious beginning to year #18. And, damn.... everything's soakin' wet. So, bring something to sit on.
Maybe we'll have a few good hours this afternoon.
Maybe we won't call this "Opening Day". Maybe we'll call this a "Season Preview". I'll just run some brand new songs by whoever shows up to sit on some soggy grass.
It's gonna be a long wonderful season by The Lake. If you don't feel like heading out today, check out these two new videos. One is a brand new song inspired by my "Feud with Stephen Colbert", and the other is an update of an old favorite. (Make sure you watch them through the credits at the end!)
I sang this song in front of a LIVE audience for the first time last Saturday night, and then again this past Monday at Birdland. Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, Dean Love, was in the house Monday night and caught the song on camera.
While I was crankin' it out, folk-legend Christine Lavin and a couple of her friends surprised me by jumpin' up on stage and laying in some background vocals. It was so very cool, and the crowd seemed to dig the new lyric.
So, click on this image to check out a song dedicated to the man I now call the "Patriotic Pillsbury Doughboy of Democracy"....
Feel free to leave comments or hit the "Contact" button up there to shoot me an email. Let me know what you think of these things. The comments I've received here at the website have been a blast so far!
Okay...
CHECK BACK IN A BIT!
Maybe I'll see you today... maybe next week.
If you're new around here.... there's a lot to check out. Besides being a self-described "possibility-junkie", I was explaining to someone a while ago that I'd also become a photoshop-junkie. You can hit the "Archive" here and search through hundreds of updates. A lot of cool stuff here at the site. FREE songs. Cartoons.
Thanks for everything.
PEACE
All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
