She said, "YES"!

(No. No. not to me.)

I'm talkin' about Jorge and Jimena... the couple who were in the gondola gliding behind me the middle of The Lake last Saturday. (More about that in a minute.)

FIRST... sorry there was no update yesterday. But, I was underwater with new stuff to do, writing new songs, running around for a little commercial job I hafta do today, and then ending up in the recording studio last night working on the new CD.

An email blast went out this morning so... a big welcome to all the newcomers to the website who got eh email blast today. I sincerely hope you bookmark this page and make a point of showing up every day. Whether you're here in New York City or you're checkin' in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, this is a fund site to visit every day.

And if you're gonna be in New York City a week from tomorrow, I hope I see you in Central Park. (Saturday, May 23 - Memorial Day Weekend, 2009)

Y'know? It's such a cool thing I get to do every Saturday right here in the middle of the greatest city on this planet. I just head out to the park strap a guitar on my shoulder and share an afternoon of music, message and laughs with both New Yorkers and people from all over the world. And, damn! I've been doin' it for a bunch of years, now.

Still... you never know what's gonna happen out there. After all, this is The Big Apple.

Last Saturday, I was singing some of my own songs and some cover tunes that I love, when all of the sudden the crowd started smiling and waving to a couple in a boat in the middle of the lake. The young guy shouts back, "She said YES!"

I decided that only typically New York thing to do was to have a crowd of strangers get together and serenade the young lovers.

So, we did.

I was hoping to have the video for you today, but the files didn't seem to want to cooperate. So, here are some stills from the video, and I'll get the rest to you as soon as I can.

. . . . . . . . .

Special thanks to James DeForte for the video footage. I'll try to get it on this site soon.

Damn! I Love this town!

I love my Life!

.

.

Very cool.

Okay, listen... I've gotta get back to work. Got a little commercial gig I'm doin' today, but I got into the recording studio last night and got a good start on the new CD. (I'm gonna try to have it available for you guys this summer.)

If you're new around here, be sure to check out these videos and feel free to leave a comment of you like.

BILL O'REILLY: The Legend of the Big giant Head

Oh, one more...

STEPHEN COLBERT: Special Kind of Friendship

Okay, see you back here tomorrow with another update.

Also, if you're new around here.... there's a lot to check out. Besides being a self-described "possibility-junkie", I was explaining to someone a while ago that I'd also become a photoshop-junkie. You can hit the "Archive" here and search through hundreds of updates. A lot of cool stuff here at the site. FREE songs. Cartoons.

Thanks for everything.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
