I wanna welcome everyone checking in here from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. But, here in New York City.... man! ANOTHER rainy, dreary day!
(Better to get them all out of the way before the weekend. I'm really hoping it all clears outta here by Saturday so we can share another afternoon of music and laughs.)
Last Saturday was "Opening Day" and it was surprising in so many ways. One of the best surprises was that a lovely woman who sang with me for years in the park, and at several indoor concerts before she moved to the west coast.
Kathi Gillmore has sung with me for years
I was workin' on a new song yesterday when I got called out in the afternoon for a really silly audition way downtown, and so on the way home I paid a quick visit to my good friend Sid.... (Yes, he still calls me 5 times a day.)
Sid Bernstein and another guy
So, I'm actually staying in again today to work on the song. If I get it in any kind of shape, even as one of those works-in-progress, maybe I'll share it hear on the website tomorrow. Y'know, I do that once in a while.... just to include you guys in the process.
I'm gonna meet with a new sound engineer to night to talk about taking a first run at a new CD. (Yeah, yeah... I know it's way overdue!) Hopefully I'll be able to get it to you guys before to long this summer.
Um.... here are a couple of new songs that I've actually turned into a couple of videos that are startin' to get around the internet. (Be sure to leave a comment if you feel like it.)
The first was spawned from my "Feud with Stephen Colbert"!
Here! Check out this video. Click on this image to check out a song dedicated to the man I now call the "Patriotic Pillsbury Doughboy of Democracy"....
Oh yeah!
Okay... thanks again to everyone who showed up for "Opening Day" last Saturday in Central Park. Hopefully I'll see you Saturday at "The Hill".
If you're new around here.... there's a lot to check out. Besides being a self-described "possibility-junkie", I was explaining to someone a while ago that I'd also become a photoshop-junkie. You can hit the "Archive" here and search through hundreds of updates. A lot of cool stuff here at the site. FREE songs. Cartoons.
Thanks for everything.
PEACE
All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
