Okay.... a promise is a promise.

A few days ago I told you guys the story of Jorge and Jimena and a very cool, but very typical kind of New York thang that happened out on "The Hill" in Central Park while I was playing. (Things like this happen every week. It's magic.) And I promised I'd get you some video as soon as I could work out some technical problems I was having with imovie.

Well... a promise is a promise. And, while I'm still working on the technical solution, I've got the video for you here today. It's gonna make you smile.

But first, hafta ask all of you to keep your fingers crossed for good weather this upcoming, early Memorial Day Weekend. I'm really achin' to get out there with my guitar on my shoulder to hang with all of you this Saturday afternoon.

Oh yeah, and a quick update of the progress on the new CD.

Heading back into the studio tonight to lay down the bass tracks with Nelson Montana, the same cat who did all the phenomenal work on Crazy on the Same Day and Common Ground. We got the drums laid down with Ryan Cavan a few nights ago. Once the bass and drums are down, these things really begin to sound... y'know.... like songs. Now, it starts gettin' really fun!

.

Okay...

THE VIDEO!

Couple of Saturdays ago, I was singing some of my own songs and some cover tunes that I love, when all of the sudden the crowd started smiling and waving to a couple in a boat in the middle of the lake. The young guy shouts back, "She said YES!"

I decided that only typically New York thing to do was to have a crowd of strangers get together and serenade the young lovers.

So, we did. I asked everybody to get on their feet and sing "Can't Help Falling in Love With You".

special thanks to James DeForte for capturing the moment on video. (And,m thanks to Dean Love for helping get the video here and watch-able!)(

Cool?

NOW, SEND THE LINK FOR THIS PAGE TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW WHO LOVES NEW YORK CITY, AND ESPECIALLY TO THOSE FRIENDS AND FAMILY ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND AROUND THE WORLD WHO HAVE NO IDEA WHAT REAL NEW YORKERS ARE ALL ABOUT!

Okay, that's it for me today.

And listen... I recently asked a whole bunch of people to join my "fan" site on FaceBook. (I don't generally like to use the word "fan". I'd rather just say "friends" or people who hang with me.)

BUT... there's a reason for the site. So, if you haven't done it, would you go there now and join it!?

I'll be back tomorrow with another update.

OH!

Quick reminder!!!

To those of you who email once in a while and suggest that I shouldn't sing songs with social conscience or political awareness....

We've lost 14 more Americans in Iraq so far this month. that's 4,926 since this illegal, immoral and wholly unAmerican invasion and occupation was prosecuted.

Also... until we prosecute and punish anyone who committed or authorized the use of torture, we are no better than any of the other regimes we point fingers at and demonize.

We are no better.

And... HA! If you claim we are you're simply deluded, blinded by faux-patriotism, or an idiot.

Okay... back tomorrow! Thanks for everything. If you're new around here, be sure to check out these videos and feel free to leave a comment of you like.

GLENN BECK SCARES ME

BILL O'REILLY: The Legend of the Big giant Head

Oh, one more...

STEPHEN COLBERT: Special Kind of Friendship

Okay, see you back here tomorrow with another update.

Also, if you're new around here.... there's a lot to check out. Besides being a self-described "possibility-junkie", I was explaining to someone a while ago that I'd also become a photoshop-junkie. You can hit the "Archive" here and search through hundreds of updates. A lot of cool stuff here at the site. FREE songs. Cartoons.

Thanks for everything.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
