Welcome back to the website.

If you're one of those people who have holidays this week... hope you had a wonderful time. (If that's your kinda thing.)

Me? I'm gonna celebrate the first day we all head back out to Central Park to hang together... cool people just hangin' out sharing music and laughs in the middle of the greatest city on the planet.

Hopefully we're talkin' about Saturday, May 2

BY THE WAY.... just a little fun thing.

Yeah, back in another New York newspaper yesterday. This time it's a story about Jim Caruso's Cast Party... in the Sunday edition of the New York Daily News. I ran out and got a copy. Besides being a friend, Jim is simply the best in the business at what he does. I was just happy to show up and give him a hand that night. Not much about what I did on stage that night in the article, but that's cool. Hopefully, it's another good thing for CAST PARTY. Still in the online version, there's actually a little video clip. (Dontcha know.... instead of a clip of one of my original songs, THEY GRAB THE DAMNED COMMERCIAL I WAS MAKING FUN OF!!!)

Oh well.

Hey! If you guys know me at all, you know that this is a fun time of year for me for another reason. I love baseball and I love heading up to Yankees Stadium. (I'm lucky because there's a guy from "The Hill" I call David Yankee who often gets me up there with one of his season's tickets. Very cool.) Lookin' forward to checkin' out the new stadium.... although the outrageous ticket prices are just more evidence of a second Gilded Age where the gap between the rich and poor in those country is growing ever wider.

Still, after the boys of summer got off to a slow start I decided to head up there for a couple of at bats.... just to help them get their swings back. Looks like it paid off. They've won 3 in a row.

This is gonna be a fascinating year in Central Park.

Well, for one thing... I have a feeling the way things are in this country right now, we're all gonna need each other's company. And, I have a feeling more and more people will start to join us - those of us who've always found real joy in the simple things. A beautiful day in New York City's own back yard, smiling faces, music made from a piece of wood strung with silver wire.

Can't wait.

Got some new songs for you.

Cassie Kubinski

The lovely and talented Cassie Kubinski was back in town from Nashville for the weekend and I asked her to lay down a couple of piano tracks for me. (She's great.) While she was here we were kickin' around the idea of workin' with some of her friends so I can start on a new album.

YES!!!! I KNOW IT'S WAY OVERDUE

But, I think our friend from "The Hill", Kara of The G.I.G Foundation, is anxious to make sure the project gets started.

(I'm a lucky man to have so many people who believe in the things I'm tryin' to do.)

Unfortunately... there's still Stephen Colbert!

I'll get back into the "Feud with Stephen Colbert" during the coming week. (I'm actually working n a brand new song. I hope to have something for you guys to listen to by the end of the week.) Here's a new link to the STEPHEN COLBERT FEUD GALLERY.

Okay, and here's another suggestion. If you have a few minutes, hit the "ARCHIVE" and catch my little grab-ass episode with Queen Elizabeth II.

Okay, outta here.

See you TOMORROW!

Thanks for everything

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
