Welcome to the website!

Gotta tell you... there is sooooo much goin' on all at the same time! I mean, today I'm shooting a really, truly, ridiculously silly little video wrapped around a really silly little song that I just wrote. (And, a brilliant writer/talented professional woman is helping out, it's being shot by an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker and it's featuring one of the most talented men in this city.)

Laura Manske
Dean Love
Jim Caruso

(It's kinda sad that these people are that silly, too.)

And tomorrow night, I'm playing a private little "Pre-Season Summer Preview Concert" where I'm gonna take a first run at a whole bunch of new songs for the park this summer.

And then... THERE'S THE FEUD WITH STEPHEN COLBERT!

And, I've got a brand new song about.... um... no...

You'll hafta come back over the weekend for it's debut.

And, I've got a whole bunch of stuff to do to get ready for
Opening Day at the Hill 2009

Opening day is one week from tomorrow!

SATURDAY MAY 2

This is gonna be a fascinating year out there. So much to sing about, so much to say!

NOW! I wanna let all you regulars, all you "People on the Hill" in on something before the season starts.

Recently, I received a phone all from Nelson Nicholas at the Parks Department (Good guy and fellow musician/songwriter), and he told me that there's gonna be some construction going on in the location where we usually hang.

But, it's cool. For most of July and August they're just gonna move us to the alternate hill I used to call "The Away Game". (Tell you more abut that as it gets closer.)

You wanna be in a movie!?

Seriously. If you come and hangout with me all this summer in Central Park, you're probably gonna be a part of a film that's being made this year about... um... about... uh...

me.

And, about what I've been doing with all of you at "The Hill" for the past 18 years.

The filmmaker, Dean Love, is gonna be shooting everyting we do out there. So, call a few friends and make plans to join us on Saturday, May 2 to kick off the summer.

I can't wait to hang out with all of you in Central Park this year. We're gonna have an awful lot to sing about this year.

If you're new around here.... there's a lot to check out. Besides being a self-described "possibility-junkie", I was explaining to someone a while ago that I'd also become a photoshop-junkie. You can hit the "Archive" here and search through hundreds of updates. A lot of cool stuff here at the site. FREE songs. Cartoons.

Alright, if you're in town I hope I see you guys out on the hill.

In the meantime, I'll be back here tomorrow.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
