Workin' on a new song today. Got the idea yesterday.

I'm gonna be bringing a handful of new songs out to "The Hill" with me. Still haven't heard back from the Permit Office of the Parks Department about which day is gonna be opening day. (Still shooting for Saturday, May 2.... three weekends from now.)

Here's some good news, though.

People started emailing me last week that the winter fence is down. I received this photo from a lovely woman yesterday afternoon.

So, it won't be long now!

Now.... before I get to Yankees Stadium, you have GOT to check this out!!!

I wanna start you off this week with a good, genuine laugh.

Okay, this video is about 9 or 10 minutes long. BUT I PROMISE YOU WILL BE LAUGHING FOR AT LEAST 8 OF THEM! (I mean, I sat in my computer chair with tears streaming down my face until my stomach muscles hurt.)

It's a video sent in to the website from a guy named Mark in Florida. It's a video of a little comedy show in Tennessee. Now, I'm sure the routine is usually funny. It's a great little idea this guy has cooked up. But, that' not what makes this thing so great. Sit back and watch the video.

Get just a few minutes into it.... and then...

What'd I tell you.

I also posted this yesterday. (Gotta post it again today.... because these images take me upwards of 18 hours to construct for a 5 second smile.)

But, the man who is makin' the movie this year out in Central Park has offered to teach me green-screen technology for dropping one video on top of another. So, hopefully it'll free me up to do more fun things in much less time!

BY THE WAY.... just another little fun thing from yesterday.

Yeah, back in another New York newspaper. This time it's a story about Jim Caruso's Cast Party... in the Sunday edition of the New York Daily News. I ran out and got a copy. Besides being a friend, Jim is simply the best in the business at what he does. I was just happy to show up and give him a hand that night. Not much about what I did on stage that night in the article, but that's cool. Hopefully, it's another good thing for CAST PARTY. Still in the online version, there's actually a little video clip. (Dontcha know.... instead of a clip of one of my original songs, THEY GRAB THE DAMNED COMMERCIAL I WAS MAKING FUN OF!!!)

Oh well.

This is gonna be a fascinating year in Central Park.

Well, for one thing... I have a feeling the way things are in this country right now, we're all gonna need each other's company. And, I have a feeling more and more people will start to join us - those of us who've always found real joy in the simple things. A beautiful day in New York City's own back yard, smiling faces, music made from a piece of wood strung with silver wire.

Can't wait.

Got some new songs for you.

I'll get back into the "Feud with Stephen Colbert" during the coming week. (I'm actually working n a brand new song. I hope to have something for you guys to listen to by the end of the week.) Here's a new link to the STEPHEN COLBERT FEUD GALLERY.

Okay, and here's another suggestion. If you have a few minutes, hit the "ARCHIVE" and catch my little grab-ass episode with Queen Elizabeth II.

Okay, outta here.

See you TOMORROW!

Thanks for everything

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
