Kinda of a dreary day here in New York City today.

Aaaannnnd...... cue the "April Showers".

But, hopefully if the Parks Department comes through with the permits I applied for this year, we'll be getting together at "The Hill" in Central Park just 4 weeks from tomorrow!

Hey...

I had great diner-run at the perfect diner with the co-founder of The G.I.G. Foundation last night.

I'll explain tomorrow.

And, I'm meeting with some other wonderfully crazy and cool people who are in my Creative Circle today. Dean Love, the Emmy-Award winning film maker who's gonna join us in the park this year - Laura Manske who has been a PR force of nature - James Marino, my good buddy and evil genius who built and runs this website. As an avowed "possibility-junkie" there's so much goin' on.

Y'see?

"You may say I'm a dreamer.... but, I'm not the only one."

Hey, let me repeat a little something here while I'm getting ready for this first brainstorming session. This as from Tuesday's update:

*****
.

Well, one week ago a movie hit the theaters in America and went directly to #2 at the box office. I was happy for everyone involved. But, it's a little known fact that I was originally cast to star in that film with my one-time friend and new nemesis, Stephen Colbert.

When Stephen didn't show up for my concert at Merkin Hall and it became obvious that he was never gonna come out of the closet about being a fan of mine, the producers decided that it would be best if we weren't in the movie together. So, they re-cast it... with Paul Rudd... and.... another guy.

This was the original concept poster for the film.

Woulda been fun to be in my first feature film.

Oh well.

At least I made it onto the NASA Space Channel when I temporarily flipped out over Colbert winning their damned contest.

He came in first by a bunch. He received more than 230,000 votes to beat out second-place name "Serenity" by more than 40,000 votes.

My suggestion to name the module never even showed up in the counting. I suggested they name it...

.... ah, nevermind.

.

Oh, okay. I suggested...

"THURMAN"

If you're new around here, you can hit the "Archive" and catch up.

In fact, here's a little gallery of some of the past images from the "Feud with Stephen Colbert". (I'm still workin' on the song!!!)

Okay, outta here.

See you TOMORROW!

Thanks for everything

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
