WHAT A GREAT TIME WE HAD LAST NIGHT!!!

Kara, a cool woman from "The Hill" in Central Park, sponsored a little invitation-only "Pre-Season Preview Concert/Party" last night.

Besides giving a roomful of great people a chance to sing and a chance for me to run some new songs and dust off some old ones, the evening turned into night of.... um... pretty extreme laughs.

Maybe I'll give you a report.

Maybe I won't.

Ha! We'll see. BUT...

Welcome to the website. And to all of you checking in here from different parts of the country and different parts of the world, welcome to to Sunday in New York.

Like I've been saying, man! Break out the shorts and the t-shirts! Spring is here!

And opening day at "The Hill" is only 6 days away! We'll be back out in Central Park (weather permitting) starting on...

Saturday, May 2

That's this coming Saturday

Hey listen....

I'm gonna be glued to this computer today. I've got a couple of new songs, a couple of new music and video projects, and about a dozen Photoshop images to work on today before I hafta do a two day commercial gig. so, I'll probably hafta come back later with another update for today.

You can check back later this afternoon.

So, for now... here's a re-post pf yesterday's update.

*****

.

.

Tomorrow, or early this coming week, I am going to have a Special Edition update that will simply be titled:

"Torture is Wrong - Disgusting - Criminal - Immoral - but, apparently not UnAmerican".

.

.

But for today, we can smile with each other... the people who "get it".

Holy smokes! What a day!!!!!

Welcome to all of you checking in here from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. But, if you showed up at this website today to find out if I'm gonna start singing in Central Park today, the answer is... um... no, not yet.

I hafta wait for the first Special Events Permit to be issued next week.

SO... if you're gonna be in town, keep your fingers crossed for this unbelievably beautiful weather to keep on keepin' on. Opening Day at "The Hill will be next Saturday - -

MAY 2

Actually, I am playing music today. A wonderful woman from "The Hill" is sponsoring a little "Pre-Season Preview Concert" for an invitation-only audience tonight. It's gonna feel good to take a run at a bunch of new songs I wanna bring out to the park this season, and dusting off a bunch of old favorites that I probably haven't played all winter.

I've been so busy this winter doing... um... y'know? I don't know what! All kindsa ridiculous stuff.

Damn! I love my Life! This is gonna be a fascinating year out there. So much to sing about... so much to say!

One of the things that kept me kinda busy was my ongoing "Feud with Stephen Colbert".

You should have seen me and a few of my loopy friends in the park yesterday shooting a video for a soon-to-be-released song written just for the feud. We'll get back to all of that stuff on Monday. (For now, you can either hit the Archive to catch up on it or check out this update or visit the gallery.)

Here's today's FREE download.

SINGIN' IN CENTRAL PARK

Oh hey... WAIT!!! You wanna be in a movie!?

Seriously. If you come and hangout with me all this summer in Central Park, you're probably gonna be a part of a film that's being made this year about... um... about... uh...

me.

And, about what I've been doing with all of you at "The Hill" for the past 18 years.

The filmmaker, Dean Love, is gonna be shooting everything we do out there. So, call a few friends and make plans to join us on Saturday, May 2 to kick off the summer.

I can't wait to hang out with all of you in Central Park this year. With everything that's going on in America today, we're gonna have an awful lot to sing about this year.

If you're new around here.... there's a lot to check out. Besides being a self-described "possibility-junkie", I was explaining to someone a while ago that I'd also become a photoshop-junkie. You can hit the "Archive" here and search through hundreds of updates. A lot of cool stuff here at the site. FREE songs. Cartoons.

Alright, if you're in town I hope I see you guys out on the hill.

In the meantime, I'll be back here tomorrow.

Thanks for everything.

All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
