Hey listen... this website is about music, laughter, and fun most of the time.
Seriously... most of the time.
But part of my job as an American singer/songwriter is to "Comfort the disturbed... and disturb the comfortable."
And, I'm runnin' a little bit late today. I'll be back with a full update later this afternoon. But, I wanna start you off this morning with a video.
Now, while I think she'd be a good friend and I'm sure I dig her as a person, I'm not a tremendous fan of Rachel Maddow as a TV commentator. I don't think she has great communication skills. (That's just a professional observation)
And, I'm hoping that people like Rachel Maddow and President Obama don't get too comfortable with themselves. This video highlights my single greatest disappointment in the current president of the United States.
But before I come back and do a complete update on this subject, I'd ask you guys to check out the guest she has in this segment of her show. (I've featured him before at this site.) Constitutional law professor from George Washington University, Jonathan Turley.
(You can skip ahead to around the 3:00 mark in the video if you like.)
Watch the video then hit the contact button and send me your comments. I'll post some on the site later this week.
*******
Now, if you'd like a usual update and in case you missed it.... here's one with which we started the week. (I'll be back later.)
MONDAY'S UPDATE
And... we're back.
Hey, what a cool little gig we had this past Friday night.
Seriously.
It wasn't like a big sell-out concert at Merkin Concert Hall, and it wasn't exactly like an afternoon at "The Hill" in Central Park.
The feeling was something different and very special as a roomful of cool people got to say "good bye and thanks" to Dave Marcus.
.
.
Now... yeah man! I am sooooo jazzin' about the weather gettin' warmer and heading back out to Central Park for year #18.
This is so cool!
Oh, hey listen. If you're new around here, you might wanna catch yourself up on some stuff.
For one thing... my feud with Stephen Colbert goes on. (I'm actually working n a brand new song. I hope to have something for you guys to listen to by the end of the week.) Here's a new link to the STEPHEN COLBERT FEUD GALLERY.
Okay, and here's another suggestion. If you have a few minutes, hit the "Archive".
Y'know, in February I did a week-long gig in Mexico. I met an awful lotta swell people south of the border.
But, here's a little video from that week. While I was in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo I got to jam a little bit with a songwriting legend. (And, really nice guy.)
Paul Williams
And, on top of that... I was doing a gig on the last night and Paul was in the audience hangin' out with a bunch of his friends. So, just for kicks I asked him if he'd jump up on stage and share a moment with me, my guitar and the people.
Click on the image to watch the video. (And, just smile, okay?)
Damn!
Fun, right? Mr. Paul Williams. And he's a really good guy.... genuine and fun. (I always say... the "bad guys" just glance off my Life and the "Good Guys" stick.)
Okay, outta here.
See you TOMORROW!
Thanks for everything
All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
