Hey!!!!

WELCOME SPRING! (Glad you finally got here!) At 7:44 this morning we said good bye to winter, 2009! (So, pay NO attention to the snow flurries here in town.)

And, welcome to all of you!

What are you doing tonight? The first night of the new season!

Seriously. We're getting together for a really cool, smaller, slightly different kind of concert. It starts at 7:30 but the doors open at 7:00. It looks like it's gonna be a good crowd, so you can still get your name placed on the list at the door by clicking on the banner further down the page. (That PayPal link to reserve seats will be good until 1:00 this afternoon.) After that, just plan on showing up at the music hall tonight between 7 and 7:15. That oughta do it!

Well, if you're reading this in a different part of the country or a different part of the world, I hope you have a great time no matter what you do.

But, here in the town where we will be hangin' out in Central Park once again very soon...

...we're gonna get together in a very cool little music venue to say so long to a man who's been a part of he music at "The Hill" for at least half of the 18 years I've been "That Guitar Man from Central Park".

Dave Marcus is leaving town and moving back to his home state of Maryland.

SO, HEAD TO H.I. NEW YORK PERFORMANCE HALL TONIGHT!

I'm gonna share a stage Friday night with a guy who's been singing back-up and harmony with me in Central Park since around 9-11-2001. He's been a part of many of the "Year End" concerts, as well as becoming a regular down in The Village for the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series.

For David Marcus this is kind of a farewell performance. We're gonna get together at H.I. New York Performance Hall and sing every damned song we can think of. It's actually a very cool little venue for this kinda thing! It's a very simple, little concert that will feel a whole lot like our afternoons on "The Hill" in Central Park.

Friday night, March 20th (The day winter ends)
7:30

H.I. New York Performance Hall
Amsterdam Ave @ 103 Street

(I think it will mean a lot to Dave of all of you showed up to kinda say, "Thanks for the music. Thanks for bein' part of a really cool thing here in New York City." Y'know?)

GONNA BE A FUN NIGHT because more than half of the songs Dave and I sing together are cover songs that you guys all sing along with. So, this is gonna be might to really let it rip, just like we do in Central Park in the summer.

H.I.N.Y. only has 150 seats as compares to the 450 at Merkin Concert Hall. So, you might wanna grab tickets today or this weekend. All you do is hit the banner up there and reserve as many seats as you need. Your name will automatically be placed on the "Guest List" at the door that night. (Or just show up with $15 that night. ALL seats are the same price!)

Before I get out of here...

Here's a new link to the STEPHEN COLBERT FEUD GALLERY.

Have fun!

Okay... cool.

If you're new around here.... there's a lot to check out. Besides being a self-described "possibility-junkie", I was explaining to someone a while ago that I'd also become a photoshop-junkie. You can hit the "Archive" here and search through hundreds of updates. A lot of cool stuff here at the site. FREE songs. Cartoons.

Alright, if you're in town I hope I see you guys tonight.

Everybody else.... I'll be back here tomorrow.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
