Welcome back to the website. It's a new week... one week closer to Spring. One week closer to getting back out to Central Park.

Welcome back to all you regulars.... and people in different parts of the country and different parts of the world.

And I wanna thank anybody who wants to help out with the "Permit Fund" this year.

Here's a SPECIAL MESSAGE if you have no idea what the Permit Fund is. No big deal.

If you're just coming around here, I might hafta catch you up a little about a few more important things.

At the end of February here in NYC we shared another typically amazing night together in a great concert venue near Lincoln Center - Merkin Concert Hall. I was jpopined on stage by George Wurzbach, David Marcus, Janet Kirker, Ryan Cavan and Chris Tedesco. Great night!

Jack Rosenthal, (formerly a special assistant to Bobby Kennedy, senior editor of the New York Times and author of the very first article that started the whole "That Guitar Man from Central Park" thing.) ... was there for a reunion of sorts. He had a blast and it was good seeing him again.

But although invited.... Stephen Colbert decided not to attend.

It's not that Stephen hasn't been a longtime secret fan and friend. It's just that he can't admit to his "nation" that he digs the music of someone with my social and political ideas.

Might not be a completely bad thing that he didn't show. I mean, many of us here in New York City recall what happened once when he showed up at "The Lake" while I was playing.... after what he said was an unhealthy combination of cough medicine and grain alcohol.

Then there was the time he thought nobody would recognize him in a baseball cap and sunglasses.... that time back in 2003 when he jokingly tried to strangle me after I sang "JesusLand".

But, I'm thinking I'm gonna let it go... the resentment I mean.

If he wants to say in the closet with his "nation" that's okay with me. We're just not gonna keep this kind of history a secret here at the website anymore.

Click on some of the images for a larger version. Feel free to copy them an email them to your friends who might be fans of "The Colbert Report".

. .

. .

Anyway....

Keep checking back here for the next concert. Hopefully, I'll come up with a venue or an idea... or something soon. (Gotta pay the rent!!!)

Hey listen! If you're new around here.... there's a lot to check out. Besides being a self-described "possibility-junkie", I was explaining to one woman that I'd also become a photoshop-junkie. You can hit the "Archive" here and search through hundreds of updates. A lot of cool stuff here at the site. FREE songs. Cartoons.

Have fun.

See you back here tomorrow.

Thanks again.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
- Dean
