Did you guys catch the Super Bowl on Sunday?

Gotta tell you... like I said on Saturday, this is the first game in a long time that I had NO preference as to which team won. Still, it turned into a great contest. And of course, a large percentage of this country watch TV that night to checkout the new commercials... and the half-time show.

In the past, some of the halftime gigs have been train-wrecks.... like the time Britney Spears jammed with Aerosmith. I think I spoke for everyone that year when I said...

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

But this year... true to pure rock n' roll, Baby!

Bruce Springsteen turned in a night of... y'know... what he does. True to the music. True to rock. Nice gig, Boss.

It's a great feeling to know who you are as an artist and what it is you're meant to be doing at any point in your Life.

(Did you know that his wife, Patty, used to hang once in a while with me and my fiddle-partner M.V. down in The Village during my Bleecker Street days?)

Y'know? Might just do the song "Lost on Bleecker Street" at the upcoming concert in 3 weeks. Yeah, in 3 weeks me and the guys are heading back to West 67th Street for the "Return to Merkin Hall" concert.

Hey!

You wanna be in a movie!? Seriously. If you come and hangout with me all next summer in Central Park, you're probably gonna be a part of a film that's being made this year about... um... about... uh...

me.

And, about what I've been doing with all of you at "The Hill" for the past 18 years. But the filmmaker, Dean Love, is gonna start by shooting the indoor things we do to break up the winter before we head back out to the park. So, call a few friends and make plans to join us on Thursday night, February 26th for...

"The Return to Merkin Hall" concert!

I think in the next few days I'll be asking you guys to email me with song suggestions for this concert. Y'know, it's a nice problem to have.... having too many songs that people wanna hear in one night. So, hit the contact button and let me know your favorites, okay? (I'm not sure I know of another artist who's ever done that! Hmmmm. Kinda cool. Wouldn't it be great if you could email James Taylor or Bruce Springsteen and ask them to play certain songs!?)

Anyway... call those friends! Make it a field trip! GRAB THOSE SEATS!

Click on this banner to order your seats right now!

Or call the box office directly. They're open until 7pm tonight.

(212) 501-3330

Okay... outta here.

See you at the concert.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
- Dean
