HEY!

Welcome to the website!

Well, we have the concert tomorrow night. I've got some really good news, some bad news and some good & bad news, and.... wait.... I'm getting ahead of myself!

Welcome to all of you reading this in different parts of the country or a different part of the world. Don't wanna rub it in, but here in New York City, the town where I've been called "That Guitar Man from Central Park" for... um.... a few years....

... here in New York City we're all gonna get together tomorrow night and hang. It's gonna be another one of those nights where we probably laugh as much as we sing. I'm gonna get to share a stage again with Mr. George Wurzbach and a whole bunch of really swell people - Ryan Cavan, David Marcus, Janet Kirker, Chris Tedesco.

Gonna be cool!

.

First piece of BAD NEWS!

Stephen and I had a falling out, so he won't be singing at the gig tomorrow night!

Yeah, maybe you guys didn't know it.... but as different as we are politically, Stephen Colbert and I have been really good friends for a long time. (We keep it under the radar... just wouldn't be cool for his "nation" to know he secretly loves my music. It would be like Ludacris admitting to his Carpenters collection.) Now, while I really admire Stephen's love of music and his incredibly versatile singing style (You should hear some of our bootleg recordings!) he finally just pissed me off beyond words. So, I un-invited him to the concert tomorrow night!!! He can just stay home and watch his own show! (He usually does anyway.)

SO, IF YOU SEE COLBERT TOMORROW NIGHT, TELL SOMEONE AND WE'LL HAVE SECURITY TAKE CARE OF IT!

Okay... that's both the good & bad news at the same time!

Here's the bad news.... for me!

Since tomorrow night's gig is on a Thursday instead of a Saturday, it doesn;t look like it;s gonna sell-out!

Here's the GOOD NEWS for you. (If you haven't gotten a ticket yet.)

Y'know, there are lots of really great seats and 3 ways for you to get one for this concert tomorrow.

You can call the box office today, directly, between noon and 7:00 today.

(212) 501-3330

There's a young woman named Sierra and a nice guy named Jake running the box office who will be happy to help you get the very best seats still available.

OR, YOU CAN ORDER TICKETS RIGHT NOW ONLINE.

The third way for you to get tickets for the show is to just show up at Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufman Center the night of the show. Since the show is on a Thursday night instead of Saturday, I'm thinkin' it's not gonna be a complete sell-out. (It might be, But, I think you'll be able to get seats the night of the gig.)

But, you might wanna just go ahead, call a few of your friends and grab 'em sooner than later.

Y'know, I just got back from doing a week-long gig in Mexico. I met an awful lotta swell people south of the border. Besides being a self-described "possibility-junkie", I was explaining to one woman that I'd also become a photoshop-junkie. You can hit the "Archive" here and search through hundreds of updates. A lot of cool stuff here at the site. FREE songs. Cartoons.

But, here's a little video from last week.

While I was in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo I got to jam a little bit with a songwriting legend. (And, really nice guy.)

Paul Williams

And, on top of that... I was doing a gig on the last night and Paul was in the audience hangin' out with a bunch of his friends. So, just for kicks I asked him if he'd jump up on stage and share a moment with me, my guitar and the people.

Click on the image to watch the video. (And, just smile, okay?)

Damn!

Fun, right? Mr. Paul Williams. And he's a really good guy.... genuine and fun. (I always say... the "bad guys" just glance off my Life and the "Good Guys" stick.)

Very cool. IF YOU'RE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE I MET IN MEXICO.... I hope I see you guys tomorrow, too!!!! (Go ahead. Make it a night to show off your suntan!) Tomorrow night we all get together in Merkin Concert Hall on West 67th Street.

Okay, outta here.

Grab those tickets.

See you TOMORROW NIGHT!

Thanks for everything

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
