By the time most of you are reading this, I will be high above the clouds, flying to Zihuatanejo, Mexico.
That's the place Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman talk aou in this scene... and then wind up at the end of "The Shawshank Redemption".
I love this. "Y'know what the Mexicans say about the Pacific Ocean?
They say it has no memory."
And it comes down to this... get busy livin' or get busy dyin'.
Me?
I've been busy livin'!!!
17 years I've been "That Guitar Man from Central Park" thanks to all of you! I can't believe it! This will be summer #18. Holy shit!
And this week, I'm sharing my songs with a whole bunch of beautiful people in the warm Sun and soft sand of Mexico.
And as soon as I get back to New York, we're gonna have only about 2 weeks until we all get together in Merkin Concert Hall.
Don't get sold out of this one! Call a few friends and grab tickets this week, okay?
Click on this banner to order your seats right now!
Or call the box office directly. They'll be open all week.

And Hey!
You wanna be in a movie!? Seriously. If you come and hangout with me all next summer in Central Park, you're probably gonna be a part of a film that's being made this year about... um... about... uh...
me.
And, about what I've been doing with all of you at "The Hill" for the past 18 years. But the filmmaker, Dean Love, is gonna start by shooting the indoor things we do to break up the winter before we head back out to the park. So, call a few friends and make plans to join us on Thursday night, February 26th for...
"The Return to Merkin Hall"
I think in the next few days I'll be asking you guys to email me with song suggestions for this concert. Y'know, it's a nice problem to have.... having too many songs that people wanna hear in one night. So, hit the contact button and let me know your favorites, okay? (I'm not sure I know of another artist who's ever done that! Hmmmm. Kinda cool. Wouldn't it be great if you could email James Taylor or Bruce Springsteen and ask them to play certain songs!?)
Anyway... call those friends! Make it a field trip! GRAB THOSE SEATS!
Okay... outta here.
See you at the concert.
Thanks for everything.
All outdoor events are weather permitting! Stop by the website before you go if it is questionable.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
